i have to say that it is quite normal for teenagers and young adults (12-22) in the philippines to go out on dates, like the one she must have been talking about. these dates would usually be going to jollibee and whiling away the time chatting while eating as slowly as they can... or simply strolling around mall-hopping and window shopping. filipino kids like to spend much of their time hanging-out with friends chatting endlessly about anything under the sun. nothng wrong with it IMO.
