Can u use this salve for bronchitis? Can just rub it on your chest

No I would infuse thyme, mullein and or peppermint to use for a topical chest application.

What is the amounts for each of your essential oils used, please
@mycarolinahomestead28 күн бұрын
For a 2 ounce container I would use no more than 6-8 drops of each oil in your formula since they are warming oils. If you have sensitive skin, I would cut back on the clove and black pepper. Thanks for watching!

Question: Some flu bomb recipes warm up/cook their fresh spices, afterwards they let it cool back down and then add the lemon. : What's the difference?? WHY would you cook the ingredients?, or why would you not cook them?
@mycarolinahomestead5 ай бұрын
It's personal preference and of course time. But, heating up fresh spices before adding them to a flu bomb recipe can enhance their flavors and release their essential oils, making the remedy more effective.

What about coconut oil instead of the shea butter?
@mycarolinahomestead6 ай бұрын
Coconut oil can be substituted but with considerations. 1. It is comedogenic and can clog pores. 2. It has a low melting point so isn't recommended in warmer climates. If those are not issues that concern you, by all means use coconut oil. Thank you for your comment 😊

Looks great. One thing I do differently is using avocado or grapeseed oil for carrier, they don't tend to go rancid like olive oil can.
@mycarolinahomestead6 ай бұрын
Those are great choices. I prefer the olive oil because it has a thicker consistency than other carrier oils. It is a personal preference.

Hi Michelle. I’ve also seen your pain/arthritis video using dandelion and purple dead nettle. I’m curious as to which of these two combinations you feel are more helpful with the pain?
@mycarolinahomestead7 ай бұрын
Hi Joanne! Both are helpful. Let me explain the differences. Dandelion is anti-inflammatory and helps with arthritis, muscle, and joint pain. Purple dead nettle is also anti-inflammatory and helps with joint pain. Combining the two makes the salve powerful. If you need more pain relief you can add rosemary essential oil to your formula. Hope this helps!

Turmeric is so great, but I can't stand the taste! I have a food aversion to peanut butter, curry, and this tastes like it to me. So, I just do a lemonade (spring water), raw honey, some garlic, cayenne pepper. I have infused garlic into some raw honey, so the honey has garlic in it.

If I may suggest something, add the essential oils at the end when everything is melted and combined. Don't warm up the essential oils during the melting process. Adding them at the end you'll keep all the benefits of the essential oils and avoid warming them which isn't that advised...!
@mycarolinahomestead8 ай бұрын
This is a good point to make. Thanks for commenting. I keep my oils under 90 degrees so they do not evaporate or degrade in the mixture. The only type I would only add to a cooler mixture is an absolute.

I have heard that baking soda should really only be used once a week max due to the gritiness. How often do you use this?
@mycarolinahomestead9 ай бұрын
Baking soda is actually good for your teeth if used properly. Many commercial toothpastes contain baking soda. Using baking soda alone is not recommended. I use it twice a day, sometimes 3 if needed. You can adjust the amount of baking soda to your preference. Thanks for watching!
