I'm still blown away by this and I'm glad you re-uploaded the video. I have just rebuilt my website, and was checking all the links, including those on the media article about the Pivotal Moment podcast. I realised I had not connected this video, and came looking for it. Connected now ;-D

Good video Sir! I would love to mention 'Soulful Synergy' book. This book is an absolute gem! From the moment I started reading, I was captivated by its profound insights and soul-stirring wisdom. It's not just another self-help book; it's a transformative journey towards discovering inner harmony and cultivating a deeper connection with oneself and the world around us. What sets 'Soulful Synergy' apart is its authenticity and practicality. The author's genuine passion for personal growth shines through every page, making it relatable and inspiring. Each chapter offers practical exercises and reflections that gently guide you towards self-awareness and empowerment.

I love what you said about being positive when it comes to the book that you read, I think it’s a great idea the emeralds of Oz life lessons from over the rainbow, however, I’ve come to learn over the years that even when we say hi these days people can be very shitty still to us so my thing is this, if the jerks on the other end, do not let it work then it’s not going to work because it’s a two-way street but if people let our moral values work then it will. What I’m trying to say is evil has the upper hand these days because the people who are responsible for stopping evil really don’t care and when we tried to do the right thing on our end, the other end is supposed to do their part, but when they refuse to do their part, then it doesn’t work out like it should and that’s very sad. That’s why I think that a lot of this is a two-way street.

This is still one of your best videos, and I'v watched quite a few ;-) I recognize having multiple roles on different platforms in different formats and 'room tones'. Off course everything is still me (integrity; personality), but I'm sometimes wondering how people I dont't know perceives it when they discover the formal and serious cybersecurity expert from TV or newspaper also doing a UFO blog and running a KZbin channel about parenting, baby gear and places to explore the world with toddlers. I don't see any conflict (hey! it's me! 😀), but I think social media presence if very different from person to person, and wonder if I can take work with it and make it a bigger advantage. Please do more about this topic, and elaborate about the practicalities about the cloud of connections.

I loved your inclusion of Wittgenstein's quote; it reminded me of a TEDx Talk by Phuc Tran back in 2012. In summary, he shares his experiences growing up in the USA as a Vietnamese refugee and how his parents adapted to their new life without the use of the subjunctive mood because it doesn't exist in their language. It's a really great watch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJa2h4B9aayem7M.

If someone were to say this, how would you respond to it? "I don't need a degree for my career. I'm getting a degree in philosophy just for my personal edification." I have another question. Suppose you don't need a degree for your career. Would taking philosophy classes be better than studying philosophy on your own?

I'm a computing teacher and former programmer. I'm also someone who is pretty bloody good musician -- the drummer who is currently playing for one of Scotland's leading traditional bands used to shout me up at informal gigs to take over from him. People don't normally sing along when I'm singing because they feel compelled to listen. Why, then, am I an employee and not an "artist"...? Because I looked at everyone who considered themselves a struggling artist and I saw a bob-a-job man in denial. The magician who is listed anonymously as a magician is not an artist. If he offered anything unique, the audience would be unhappy, as like as not. Similarly, a musician who plays standards is "good enough" but not strictly worthy of their own name; the musician who plays self-penned songs is an artist, but has a narrower audience. But the not-really-an-artist bob-a-job magician, musician or balloonist is, quite simply, replaceable. That drives prices down and means that the small number of jobs that require skill and practice typically pay far less than mass employment in industries that simply expect a non-specific degree. This has only gotten worse as entertainment has become instantly available: charge a sensible amount and people will ignore you in favour of people who work for an unlivable wage. In summary: you are only an artist if you offer something unique, and most aspiring artists do what the market wants them to do. They never truly become artists.
