I think that Celestial Nails are just Abyssal Power purifiers that work by using Leylines as power source, that is why they cause all sorts of catastrophes, since leylines get too weak. Reason why Celestia has not dropped new ones for a while is either that there has not been big enough Abyssal crack or that Celestia is offline.
@mikkomuukka175529 күн бұрын
Elemental energy and memories are both energies that can counter Abyss. Leylines are filled with both. When Nail appears it causes Leylines to start acting up. Therefore I think that it would not be too far fetched to think that a Nail uses Leyline energy to combat Abyss energy.

My current theory is that the Divine Nails, Gnosis/ Archon System and Statues of The Seven/Teleport waypoints all act as part of a system to reinforce Teyvat's Laylines. I made a similar post somewhere else, but the laylines are memories and tied to the world tree of Irminsul. So anyone capable of using the Waypoints most likely alters the memories of those around them to never notice that function. But i think the action of them being waypoints are just a secondary feature, its a more wider area linchpin network over a larger area of effect. While traveling across Teyvat, a throw away action of our travels is fighting layline disruptions and restoring power to the "Statues of The Seven".

The celestial nail has a similar design to the loading screen pillars. If I had to guess, the loading screen is the entrance to teyvat and other worlds. Due to this it’s very important that it’s capable of repelling the abyss. The nails in teyvat seem really old and outdated compared to the ones in the loading screen, so in someway they were broken and repurposed into what they are now. I also think they might work like antibiotics, in the way that they hurt the abyss but also Irminsul, a treatment not a cure. Antibiotics also become less effective over time which is why the current nails are failing and the pillars in the loading screen are updated, the abyss became resistant. Alternatively, if the nails are made from a constellation the damage caused in Dragonspine could be the manifestation of the constellation. Irminsul, is supposed to connect to constellations and manifest them as fate. Since the nail was so close to Dragonspine it likely connected to irminsul and began manifesting as cold weather. The reason it pushed back the abyss was because of the intense elemental energy. The question is whose constellation is it from, and what effect does it have on the person connected to that constellation. I also assume that nails are connected to a strong constellation, so celestia wouldn’t use many because of the effects on teyvat and the person as well as there not being many powerful constellations.

All things will *originate* from there and move on to the *next Finality* . " 2. HooH. THEY balance Existence and Nothingness (balance the tree and the sea) "At the beginning of life, the weight of Existence was placed upon the scales, and the burgeoning of life energy instantly tilted the balance of the universe. But the patience of *Equilibrium* is unfathomable - given enough time, *Existence* and *Nothingness* are destined to attain perfect balance once more, and the balance of universal precepts must be respected." 3. IX. THEY are Opposite of Existance/Reality (the sea itself) "Everything that makes up *reality* is but one side of the coin. On the opposite side, of equal entropy, there exists *nihility* . The two balance each other to create the complete universe"

On the celestia model, we can see that there's 2 nails remain's. (We know that celestia dropped nails (1 in natlan), (2 in li yue), (1 in inazuma), (1 in sumeru dessert) 2 remaining nails on the model were probably planned to be dropped in foutaine and Snezhnaya. And if we count all those nails (including on the model) there's 7 of them.

So I'm sorry to break your understanding a little but while your theory could still be correct you have some wrong infos 1) the info: 1 celestial nail in Dragonspine-Mondstadt 1 celestial nail in Tsurumi Island-Inazuma 1 celestial nail in Center Sumeru Desert in the Sandstorm 1 Celestial Nail in that Natlan area And 1 Celestial Nail in the Chasm-Liyue (if you think there is a 2nd in the Chenyu Vale it's not true the people of chenyu vale are actually the descendants of the civilisation that lived in the Chasm area before the Nail was dropped so the inscriptions found in Chenyu vale are showing predictions or happenings during the moment when the Nail got dropped in the Chasm) 2) Not to say that your theory could not happen but there is also a possibility that the celestial nail is in the Northen area of Fontaine which hasn't appeared yet so yeah or how you said the Nail could be dropped there now (despite the Nails supposedly being thrown together at the same time)
@NecrochaosiumАй бұрын
I never believed in the punishment theory. My theory is that the nails were dropped by whoever was in celestia at the time(they literaly look like pillars of a building) we know that apep had a nail drop directly on her head when she became contaminated with the forbidden knowledge. Whether they were all dropped at the same time or different times due to outbreaks is another thing. I also think that the withered irmunsul branches show the biggest reason why: those parts of irmunsul had be co-opted into doing something else than what they should have been doing and were cleansed in desperation. Likely from "the second who came's" attack on the primordial one (that we know damaged it's functions). We know after that event the third descender was broken into the gnosis parts with help from another entity which then formed the new order of teyvat.

i think the biggest nitpick here is that the story would not even exist without paimon the traveler had no ambition to do anything they would most likely never have learned the langauge or even set out on the journey without paimon so you could say its really paimon's story and the traveler is more along for the ride it's kinda like how ff 12 is kinda ashe's story despite vaan being the protag i guess players suffering from the main character syndrome would hate that though :D with genshin basically translating to the Original God maybe the journey is about restoring paimon to her throne as the one true god

When it comes to weapons that work against will of countless people, I would say the Abyss Order wields the ultimate weapon - the Abyss itself. Abyssal corruption and its forbidden knowledge are not without counters, but with a strong enough army, defenses can be breached, and defenders outmaneuvered.

Special ink for writing stories, you say? Well, there is a fairy tale in Teyvat featuring that. In the "Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods" artifact set. The ink to write a story is people - the characters of the story. Or we may be overthinking, and the ink is a perfectly ordinary ink, and it is the genius of the author that brings it all to life. After all, special ink would only be used for the final version, not for the drafts. And yet the drafts of background story of a victory over a dragon also came to life.

This theory is quite convincing. But such a close repeat of Remuria scenario is unlikely, from a meta perspective. I think the main difference is, Remuria did not have to fight the "old world order" or the "resentment of this world". But the Primordial One had to deal with them. So the power of humanity had to be used to suppress the old draconic world, and perhaps to build the shell that protects Teyvat from the outside world too.

My theory is that Divine Nails are made of a divine tree. Specifically, the tree that was cut down in the Parable of the Tree to repair the temple or something like that. Which is why their properties are similar to that of Irminsul. Thank you for recapping the chasm events. For a long time I thought that each nail is related to one of the Shades (assuming artifact theory is true): the nail in Sumeru is a nail of wind and time, Istaroth. A moment perfectly preserved against time. The nail in Chasm sealing the chaotic space. The nail in Natlan creating an afterlife, an area of responsibility of Shade of Death. But with your recap, it became clear that the chaotic space was not restricted just to space.

I think celestial nails and archon statues are made of the same thing. Big solidified masses of elemental energy. Likely as nexus points on the leylines. And the archon statues specifically gather elemental energy of each element of the region. (So Anemo for mondstadt, etc). And they do this to direct energy to the gnoses of each region and keep the elemental energy of the land in check. So the archon statues are gather energy from the land and send it to the gnosis, which keeps a dragon’s elemental authority in check and empowers the archon of each region. Since the archons are supposed to be essentially Celestia’s henchmen, it makes sense for Celestia to give them a method of retaining power. Otherwise the dragons might be able to gather it (like how apep can store more and more dendro energy) and eventually retake their authorities by force. So the celestial nails and archon statues stop this from happening. I essentially think they’re a way to suppress the dragons and power the gnoses. And as a side benefit, they can also be emergency anti-abyss measures, since elemental energy and abyssal energy repel each other. Also remember that elemental energy and memories are directly interchangeable in Genshin. Meaning MEMORIES can be used to repel the abyss and power a gnosis.

Your analysis of the purple crystal and its appearance has some accuracy and parallel with what happened to King Deshret. In that one cutscene that tells of Greater Lord and King Deshret's fight against the forbidden knowledge, it is said that along with Greater Lord's power, King Deshret sacrificed himself in the end, and in that cutscene a purple crystal was shown, maybe symbolizing himself. We all know that King Deshret also came in contact with a certain crystal (not mentioned as divine nail in game) but he used its power to create that space frozen in time for the Goddess of Flower. Just like that weird space in Chasm. Both spaces can manipulate time and even rewind it to a certain extent. What if, whoever dropped the nails was also trying to control time, not just to purify but to put things back in order, and eventually decided to stop after witnessing mankind repeat the same mistakes anyway, even in new samsara.
@hellozennАй бұрын
so from your view, the Heaven initially dropped the nail to put those civilzations into order but after awhile, they realized what they did becomes less effective?

@@hellozenn Yes. Coz if i remember it right, the skyfrost nail fell when people of Sal Vindagnyr started to have the desire, or maybe even found a way to achieve divinity. The nail did not only erase the civilization there, it deleted them from history too coz the white tree withered not long after the nail fell. Good thing the princess drew murals and those tombstones helped keep records of their time. This happened prior to fall of Khaenria so that nail couldn't be targeting abyssal energy or creatures. I'm not sure about the timeline but is it possible that they stopped dropping nails and decided to assign the archons instead? Was Zhongli already the geo archon when chasm nail dropped?

the statement "the gnosis were made from the remains of the 3rd descender" is actually came from Neuvi who gets that info from Skirk, and then share to us, the Traveler, at the end of Fontaine archon quest act 5. if you mean by the nails weren't made from "remains" of 3rd descender, yes, potentially. In this video, i suggest that, perhaps, these nails was like came from other descender like 1st or 2nd. My understanding is that all the nails fell at the same time, after the war between the first and second thrones of the heavens nearly destroyed teyvat. The thunderbird ‘flashback’ in the tsurumi quest mentions multiple objects falling from the sky at the same time one fell on Tsurumi. It seems they were a last ditch effort by celestia to mend the leylines that were ruined by the abyss. It would fit with apep mentioning that a nail fell in Sumeru and turned the original rainforest into a desert long before deshret built his civilization.

I think you're on the right track. From the information we have about the Nails, they appeared in civilizations that dared to use the abyss. I interpret it as the Nails being there to seal a hole in the abyss that may have been opened, like a needle trying to close a hole in a torn shirt. Why aren't there more Nails? Exactly because of what you pointed out. I believe that the Nails could be the power of some descender or some Shade, just as the Gnosis are the remains of the third descender. And the reason there are only a few is because they are the holes made in the war against the Second who came. It is said that the Nails descended from the heavens to correct the devastation that had been caused by this war, even with the drawbacks such as turning Sumeru into a great desert. That's why in the cataclysm no Nails descended to correct the problem, and the archons had to sacrifice themselves to save Teyvat. For example, it's no wonder that Makoto turned into a tree. If you notice, in many regions of the game we have a "tree" to interact with and give resources to. Just as we also have statues of the gods throughout Teyvat that we also interact with and give resources to. In both cases, the tree and the statue "evolve" as they level up. For me, all of this was planted in time-space a long time ago in the plan to save Teyvat from whoever it is, they are clearly defense resources. All these changes in time-space that should not happen are in some way interfering and trying to change the destiny of the world.
@hellozennАй бұрын
hmmm... that's really interesting view... this makes me wonder if the Heaven is indeed not being at very good position right now. Like, they seems to have less and less option to encounter this war against the abyss. Even with the plan you mentioned, involving time-space thingy, it feels take a lot of, how i should say this, hmmm compensation along the way i might say, you know for the greater good.... but yeah, once again, let's hope the dev gives us more lore and info regarding this topic 👀👀

If the Samsara theory is correct, and each cycle does something different trying to change the fate of the world (also known as the destruction of the world), those things that were done in the cycle that was reset would remain using the power of, for example, Istaroth. Just as a Sakura Tree was planted, but it was as if it always existed for everyone, I believe the same happened with the other trees. Depending on who was in the MC's place in each reset, each person did something different to try to change the world. Nails must probably be Phanes or one of his Shades. The archon statues are post-war archon statues, but apparently use the same "blue" power that Nails has to repel the abyss. We have confirmation that Sacred Sakura is Makoto's "consciousness" and Amrita Pool is Egeria's "consciousness", both the first archons of their regions. Lucine's Fountain has the consciousness of several oceanids. Tree of Dreams is the planted body of Araja, the elder of the Aranaras and probably even has a hand in this from the sibling, since they interacted in the past. As for “trees” from other regions we don’t have much information, in fact almost no information other than “level up and get free resources”. They remind me a lot of the Focalors’ plan to accumulate power in Oratrice for centuries so they can then use it for x specific purpose. We should only have more information about this when we are close to the end of the world and Samsara resets the world again. Another thing that reminded me are the objects that contained “memories” in Natlan’s AQ, which could serve as fuel to generate energy for the archon.

Nah, I think the nails are meant to be a way to ward off the abyss. It seems like it's made for order or reconstruction. Mythologies seem to point to nails or fingernails as a form of the death or for protection, boundaries, OR to ward off spells. So assuming the Genshin writer team is basing this off of their research from other mythologies makes me think is one of the them or a combination. Just remember, gods or people who mess with with Irminsul and the time line, can also change attitudes of people and manipulate leylines like the Loom of Fate. That is scary that an enemy can change your memory of something that is not how it happened, but a do over. So, I think it may be a misunderstanding between Celestia and Khaneriah because of the Abyss.
