Interesting topic but insanely ill informed. Not recognizing who Varg is. The absurd logo on a picture of fenriz is borderline character assassination lol.

Gracias!

Apparently this is a real thing. I have a friend in Ecuador, he moved there with his wife and the local metal scene are like, casually down with the Nazi occult.

They are inspired by the Acción Revolucionaria Mexicanista, a political group during WW2 that is not very well known, but it existed and was supported by the sketchy Germany. Also these groups have splits and collaborations with the European NSBM bands (you can investigate them in Metal Archives, sometimes they even share members, like the case of Ereshkigal and Der Stürmer). I know it's kind of weird, but I suppose that despite certain contradictions they still have collabs because of the similar goals and ideals about ultranationalism, antiglobalism, antisem*tism, etc. 🤷🏻♂️ The swastika these Mexican bands use is taken from the Aztecs, not from Asian cultures. But now that we're talking about Asians, there's also movements like the ONSP over there. Search about the Samurai Spirit Skinheads and the Darah & Maruah Tanah Melayu.

Wow.. I was very excited when I stumbled upon this video about a topic I am very familiar with and passionately interested in, only to be met with an uninformed bumbling stumbling nerd who could barely get a cohesive sentence out while scrolling through a halfassed slideshow of some poorly researched and poorly understood ideas and images. Very disappointed and underwhelmed with this presentation that could have been a chance to discuss a very interesting and rich topic that doesn’t often get spoken about. Big thumbs down all around.

and yes! 21:50 agree! positive self-talk only - this was so so interesting and way too short! the conclusions are helpful... I never really understood why extreme metal heads were so fond of these myths, for I had so different reasons to love them (my researching started with the angels in koran when i was a tween). it’s interesting to see how others integrated these old phrases. beautiful. blood of kingu i like a lot. so but my conclusion was to take "myself" out of the art, to NOT control a mind listening to it but create a world ones fantasms could rise beyond control - something I really miss in BM today - it would be interesting too to discuss the male and female socialization in that term too - cause I (as a "female") read the sources differently and eventualy (re-)acted very differently on it as discribed by akh and her examples. why wear a myth? why make them an ego-thing if i could be god myself? why not let the „demons“ , the undescribable forces that are able to move our hearts be the one and only topic in our work of art? this topic on control and on the uncontrolable forces often used by akh are such a feeling of home in my mind, so super deep, and how they emerge into identity topics in metal culture… well wow! this is the stuff to talk and think about for hours. ty! i‘m high now <3 yes, adhd.

ah yes... gilgamesh *smirk*... I feel like playing a board game now. 12:41 I'm glad I can count myself to the 0,1% that found that source through jazz (pat martino). still it became black metal tho'. really nice content. thank you!
