Jules is no hero, he didn't really stop a robbery, he just stopped them from stealing his briefcase and his stuff, but they still took everything. I do love the conversation and will be subscribing.
@loadbearingbeamspod3 күн бұрын
In the movie's amoral universe, he is a hero. Because he normally would have killed the robbers, but he chooses not to because of what he perceives as a miracle. He makes a moral choice he would otherwise not have made.

Sony is so stupid. They had plenty stories that they could've adapted from they could've adapted from the comics. Anything would've been better than rehashing the origin story again. Then when they actually do adapt material from the comics. It has no impact. Because it's one of the biggest stories. So everyone already knows the big surprise. 🤦♂️

I like Garfield and Stone, I think they work very well together on screen. I meant to point that out in the video as another thing I like about the movie. But ultimately I think they are poorly served by it.

I don’t like how you said the title as if it’s fact. It’s not. It’s your opinion. And an awful opinion at that. It’s my personal favorite movie of all time so just make sure you’re considering your viewers opinions, before you do a video like this
@loadbearingbeamspod5 күн бұрын
I give people the credit of understanding this is an opinion without me having to constantly say, "This is just my opinion." That is how movie criticism works. I'm glad you love the movie. Nothing I say (and nothing anybody else says) should stop you from loving the things you love.
@H.P._Lovecrafts_Beloved_Cat4 күн бұрын
I’m glad that you like the movie, but it just has a lot of noticeable problems. My biggest issue is that it introduces plot lines just to drop them later. Peter going to Oscorp to find info about his father, dropped after he gains powers. Norman sending his goon to threaten Dr. Connors, that becomes irrelevant later. Peter hunting down Uncle Ben’s killer, he completely stops caring after the lizard shows up. There are parts I enjoy, but it’s a really messy movie.

I worked in a local video store and it wasn’t a community at all. It was an important place for me and my friend to rent stuff, but no one ever talked about film. Incidentally it was the place when I was 14 I found Reservoir Dogs dumped in with all the direct to video releases distributors would bundle with the 40 copies of Independence Day they had actually ordered. RD changed my life and I pushed QT on my film goob friends at school. I hyped him for months and just about lost my mind when I learned that PF was being released. Sadly, I nothing would ever compare with RD for me. I was enough of goober that I got the script and the VHSs and soundtracks and posters on my bedroom wall, but RD is the one that has always stuck with. Some asshole I worked with stole my RD vhs, though.

i actually saw this one before the first babe and as a child i was fascinated by this film. i think there's something in the scope of the film that speaks to a child's worldview. but also challenges that worldview, and in the end bringing those "two broken halves to create something afresh". honestly one of my favourite films i am not kidding

That's why I enjoy this movie, still. There's so much excellent foreshadowing in so many of these scenes, that when the twist is revealed, you don't feel cheated. That's one of the key ingredients of a good twist ending: excellent foreshadowing. Without it, you're just trying to fake out your readers/audience.

I think goth was definitely around (actually I think it started late 70s to early 80s) but it was presented in this fun middle America friendly way- so if you were a kid growing up in the Midwest or the Bible belt this would have been the first time it was so accessible fashion wise- cause we could get dark clothes and wrap skirts and slip dresses in JCPenney once this movie came out
