Gore Vidal has wonderfully vivid descriptions in his novel “Burr” of Washington DC and the White House in their early days. Not an auspicious beginning for freedom’s land.

Indeed. Slavery in the midst of the new nation's elevated assertions was certainly the fly in the soup. A sad contradiction that didn't keep very many others awake at night. Rome on the Potomac, the dream of marble and mosquito built by Africans.

Tell me how were the slaves freed? Please research source historical documents before you answer or I guarantee you will look foolish. Let us die to make men free...

It’s about time America faced the disturbing fact that democrats held slaves since the founding of America. It wasn’t until 1864 that the Republican Party was founded and set the slaves free of their democratic masters.

If you want more Robin type in "Robin Williams Koko" to see wonderful footage of him interacting with Koko the Gorilla. Billy Crystal later said during rehearsal just seeing the giant photo of Robin on screen he broke down and couldn't even do it. He said this is the hardest thing he's ever done, steeling himself during the live performance and pay proper tribute without breaking down. Him and Robin were very, _very_ close. rip Robin W.

John Adams was from Braintree, Massachusetts. Slavery was outlawed in constitution of Massachusetts and the original charter that Massachusetts received from the King of England. So, he was not used to slaves.
