There are quite some things to add. You can just build an outhouse and stand on that so they can't glitch through a fence and overrun you. If you take it even further and don't want to build anything, you can just rush into a bandits camp and hop on a the barrels there. So they can't really disengage and the archers will have difficulties to find a spot for hitting you because they try to get distance so they go outside but the camp has barricades. You can also just add an outhouse to your little fence fortress, that will give you more protection and a spot to retreat when they glitch through the fence. The final basic upgrade is to bring one or 1 or 2 own NPCs, that way the enemy will never disengage. Also you shouldn't be too focused on archers, at that distance it's a pure waste of arrows. Also if you killed all melee guys, you can simply storm the remaining archers. Just move so they can't hit you and focus on targets you can easily it. If you duel with archers prioritize not getting totally outnumbered. If it's 5 archers against you, you'll most likely lose, so move that way that only 1 or 2 can hit you. For this it helps to build the fence fortress on a hill or uneven terrain in general. While it maybe a cheesy strategy it's not a guaranteed win. My swamp fortress has like 3 layers of defenses additionally split into cells lots of outhouses, storages and I still got overrun multiple times or had too flee. Well now in the current state with an added safe room in a gathering hut the chances for that are really low but on the other side it took a lot of resources and time to build it that big. Final Pro Tip: Don't come to the battle with your inventory full of reeds and other crap you just collected, bring instead arrows, food and health items. ;-)

Interesting you mentioned the outhouse. When I was streaming on Twitch someone suggested the same thing, so I built another farm near Padstow. I will try bringing some NPC’s because I find the bandits don’t stay engaged. Thanks for sharing the tip and for watching!

@@Scorpion27772 Well, obviously standing on an outhouse will make you an easy target for enemy archers yet it's still the cheapest and most basic fortifcation and in more complex setups it gives protection from certain angles like if you want to stock up or arrows it's nice not to get shot in the back while browsing to the storage. Also if you bring NPC friends, make sure that they got a secondary weapon because if their only weapon breaks, they'll try to run away and things go south. :) So setting up a proper siege camp can be fun too. Keep in mind that if it takes too long reinforcements might spawn in the camp or returning or other patrols may assist so it all can take a lot longer than expected. Btw. save scumming won't work very well in such a situation since when reloading fences will be ignored and they are all suddenly around you clubbing you down.

If you set up a remote copper mine, do you have go retrieve the copper or does the assigned villager bring it back to your villager? Also how often do metal deposits respawn ore?

The way I have my mines set up are they are part of my main settlement. This means my followers or I need to go and get the material. If I set it up as a separate settlement then I can set up deliveries from the mines. Also the ore deposits don’t respawn to my knowledge. Once you use them up, they’re done.

Some trees only produce logs, which you can breakdown into wood. Other smaller trees you can farm for wood.

so when starting out you want to keep the farm priority at 5 set all crops to 0 plant everything yourself for 2 reasons 1 Your people don't seem to use fertilizer 2 you have 100 percent control over whats planted your workers will prep and take care of what you plant you just fertilize and drop seeds sage and Garlic are two huge food crops early all the stews and jam use either sage or garlic. flax and hemp in the next field each field needs 2 to 3 water collectors big thing is setting up storage. you can limit starage say 200 flax when you hit that number the rest should sit in the field. this works for stone also and man do I wish I would have known that after 1000 stone taking up a barn as long as I accept stone my people will collect it

If you really wanted to cheese renown….theres an amazing spot on a rock near a big bandit encampment south west of padstow. Can climb on the rock and also shelter there to take cover from archers. But its really cheesy 😂
