How do I make characters like Batman and Superman

with resin you can use any items that is plastic or polymer (that won't soak up liquid) to put into it. Baked polymer clay items are great! Or if you want to do a series of batman or superman, you can consider printing the image on transparency (with laser printing) and putting it into the resin!

How should i store the plate?

After drying, you can just lay a piece of plastic (like transparency) over both sides of the plate. This will help ensure it doesn't collect dust or cause any unforeseen cracks into it. And then it can be just stored away normally! Hope this helped!
