What do you think of this piano? Is it any good? It's selling for $1500. Do you know how much it costs?
@2468tom24689 күн бұрын
@@davidreyesvalencia9489 hi, this piano sold a while ago. I think with pianos it’s always best to pay a premium price rather than a budget price. Pianos that are advertised at low costs probably have had no work done to them or they got them cheaper due to them being in a bad condition to start with. Pianos last a lifetime if cared for, so paying an extra £500 now to get a decent piano for the next 30-50 years is well worth it in my opinion!

Nice job man!! May I suggest something? No? ok lol Try to make the broken chords, in your left hand, more Legato (connected). You see how your pinky finger leaves the key then your index plays the next note? Try to connect all those notes by keeping your pinky on the key, move your wrist to the right until your index reaches the next note, then let go of the pinky. And listen how it's going to sound. As much of a minor change you might think this is, it will make a significant difference in the musicality of it. It's also a good way for you to start incorporating the wrist technique for your future pieces, because trust me when I tell you this, you're going to have to use your wrist once you start going up the scale of difficulty :) Keep up the good work. I enjoyed listening to you play.

@@David-R. hey thank-you for the advice, I’m self taught so I have many bad habits!

@@2468tom2468 you’re very very welcome man! I’m self-taught too and I played Chopin and Franz Liszt and what not before I went to college for music. So I understand how huge of an accomplishment you achieved! It takes an intelligent, dedicated, and disciplined person to be able to play a piece like this one without any help!! Yeah, just pay attention to that wrist and there are some exercises to help loosen it and put it to use :) 👍🏻👍🏻 I know you’re never going to stop playing the piano!!! Once you’re in like that, you’re in for good lol

@@2468tom2468 I'm sorry I just got back from work and realized that I made a mistake. When I played it now I realized that after the 5th (pinky) you should use your middle finger for the next note then your thumb on the E note and then the second (index) falls on the C#, same fingering for the next set of notes in your left. Try that..

Any idea what the color was that you painted it?
@2468tom24684 ай бұрын
Hi there, it’s Hague Blue by Farrow & Ball. If you’re using it for furniture or in this case a piano I recommend getting it colour matched by a specialist and using a hard wearing paint as F&B (even their furniture wood paints) are not durable enough long term

@@2468tom2468 oh cool. I'm trying to sell a really top condition zimmerman upright. Its never been used basically just stored and that can be proven. As a piano technician do you know the pricing roughly of a piano and/or how can I sell it? This piano is in superb condition it's like brand new although its been made roughly 50 years ago, but I can't sell it where I live no one wants acoustic piano 😭 possibly might need to sell it outside of my country (Bulgaria). Do you have any suggestions?
@2468tom246811 ай бұрын
@@radoslavdragnev8797 unfortunately I see a lot of Zimmermanns here for sale but they often go for free even ones in good condition. The problem with those they were made in east Germany when it was occupied by Russia. They are prone to Keytops coming unglued, they have actions that can seize up and will need re-pinning. Honestly a piano that’s not been played for so long and sat in storage is a bad thing, like anything mechanical it needs to be used every now and then to keep the parts from sticking/seizing up. Modern Zimmermans are much better and owned by C.Bechstein, so their reputation has improved since. I don’t know any dealerships here that are buying older Zimmermanns but you might be able to post it as a private sale at best £100-£300.
