On the “Homeland, homeland” part, I wish there was a little more first soprano, but this was absolutely beautiful!

A much more graceful rendition than the 2012 MMEA interpretation. Nice job Cypress Woods!

Gotta say, this is a great performance. I did all three of the Gawthrop pieces of which you speak in high school, but this one may very well be my favorite.

Those aren't overtones, thats a high C. It's crazy! I freaked out the first time I heard my choir sing it.

@Tommiewashere "Sing me to Heaven" is quite similar to "There is Sweet Music Here". Slow and dissonant. I absolutely love both of them. My favorite version I've heard of Sweet Music is sang by a men's choir... Awesome in itself.

@SSgtTJ thank you so much! I haven't heard Sing Me to Heaven yet, is it similar to this? The CWHS varsity women's choir sang Gawthrop's There Is Sweet Music and it was gorgeous. I unfortunately don't have the recording :(

Gawthrop is amazing. We're singing "Sing me to Heaven" in our Varsity Mixed Choir. This was phenomenal.

@Tommiewashere you know wut my bad i reread my comment and i sound like a snobby bee-atch lol it is a published piece i just get so possessive over music haha besides everyone knows cyprus woods HS has an awesome music program.

This is the most beautiful song! My choir is singing it for our district competition. I am so excited! It is just amazing. The emotions behind it really make it a moving, chills-giving piece. I love it! thanks for posting!
