Wouldn't it be better if the blanket was under the batteries because heat rises ?
@44point5Күн бұрын
Heat moves in three ways: convection, conduction, and radiation. Conduction and radiation move in all directions, always from warm to cold.

You were fortunate. I was looking into car camping with my Prius at Everglades National Park here in Florida and they don't allow car camping unless it's in one of their two campgrounds which are a little pricey. My first car camp will be at Big Cypress Preserve on the north side of Everglades N.P. Camping where I plan to go is just $5 per night for seniors, which I am. I ordered a 12V refrigerator/freezer to put food and drinks in since there is no water where I'm going. Luckily they have bathroom facilities. I have an exercise mat to lay on and maybe a blanket will be enough since it doesn't get too cold at night in South Florida. I'll be pretty far west so it may get a little chilly. I may invest in some material for the windows like you have for insulation and privacy.

Wow, sifting the fly poop from the pepper really paid off! Of all the videos I have watched for this job, this is EXACTLY the video I needed to see to do this. That is EXACTLY my dash. That is probably EXACTLY the procedure the techs used back when our trucks were new. No tools, no contortion, no blind feeling with arthritic fingers. Just boom! In and out. Thank you a thousand times.

Full time van lifer here.Thank you for sharing your experience with a heatpad on your batteries. 2 years later I am looking for a solution. I like your idea but I am wondering how well this has worked for you in different temperatures and after 2 years time. I have purchased 12v throws in the past but they quit working after a few months- how is yours holding up? Have you discovered any other tricks that you could share? Thanks handsome guy!

I'm considering a camper shell for solo campouts. We have a truck camper for family outings. Your solution looks solid, even though it's still somewhat involved and I imagine switching back and forth between slide in and shell kinda gets old. I was wondering if there's a way to attach 4 eyebolts to the roof of shell (reinforced on inside of course) and being able to load and unload shell with tractor. I'm also considering building a simple slide-in out of wood which would almost mimic the camper shell in shape but would be easier to load and unload. It would also prevent dust from being sucked in from tailgate, which seems to be an issue with the camper shell setup. But again, good video, well explained and demonstrated. Take care.

Thank you for your thorough diagnostic video! Your link for the Polarity reversing unit goes to a wired unit that doesn’t list the Atwood model #. But when I search Amazon for the model number, it comes up with a unit that shows the correct model # and costs $54 more than the model you’re link shows. Does the one in your link work with the wireless remote system? Thanks

I had a friend help me with restoration of a boat - with wood which is in fair shape and dry (important) you can make a thin mix of fiberglass resin add a few drops of acetone to thin it out. Using a paint brush generously spread the now more watery mix over the wood. It will be absorbed by the wood and then set up giving you a good firm base to work from. Did all the stringers on a 1959 dorsett boat and they set up like rocks.

I just finished this procedure on 11/3/2024, although I just replaced the parts according to NHTSA 19-NA-206 instead of replacing the whole shifter assembly. While I understand that its only $40 more expensive, I felt replacing the components were the easiest part. A couple of notes that will maybe help others. You don't need to remove either of the side panels, there are other videos that show this, but you really only need to remove the shifter boot, top and top trim. For me the shifter mechanism would not push backwards. I had to wrap a strap around the front of the shifter and pull the whole unit back as hard as I could to get it to finally move backwards, so that it could be removed. Even during reinstall my shifter seems to fit quite tightly into the base. I added some grease so next time it might be easier. If this ever fails, I think I'll just but an Omron D2HW-BL221H and just solder it in with the bonus that you don't have to pull out the shifter.

@vanbosman80582 ай бұрын
Just completed this...just a few thoughts. You just twist and pull up on shift knob and it comes off without messing with the retainer ring. You can remove the bolt with a quarter inch drive ratchet and 10 mill without removing the side filler panels. Total replacement time was 20 minutes.

The lack of smell and smoke with Renewable Diesel is amazing. We have one station in Central Oregon that sells it. All diesel should be this synthesized fuel made from carbon neutral feed stock. This fuel is superior in every way, lower pour point, higher cetane, no smelly esters, and carbon neutral. I use it in my powerstroke f-450.

What? 10 AWG is correct. But it’s 10/3 wire, not 10/2 for an outlet. 10/2 wire is for DC circuits.

You know all the side and top vents are blowing hot air back inside the room so your test is probably half as efficient that way as it would be when properly set up. All those vents should be venting outside not inside.

Dude you are amazing Thank You for the amazing video. I have a 2001 and the top isn't closing leaves about a 1-1/2 inch gap. Any ideas or should i do what you did and remove the entire slide out? Also previous owner jerry rigged the slide out motor directly to the shaft and I have a gate latch to keep it from sliding out while driving. do you know where i can get the proper gear mechanism? Again THANKS amazing work.
