I am very sad that the CF-7's were cut up on site. The 567's and in fact the entire units could have been sold off to any of the scenic railways still running F7 units. Wonder why the Penn Rail line over in East York didn't buy one of the units as a source of parts? Who cut the units up and were any of the parts sold or donated to keep preserved museum locomotives running? Can't believe the EPA forced the destruction of some other classic G&W locomotives!!! That was just sad but I guess G&W really screwed up big time!! I hope this tree-hugging forced destruction of old power units ends!!!

I've actually caught #378 leading before; it has one of the best K5LAs in CSX's fleet IMO

Wish they'd stuck with the Chessie scheme, best visibility, especially in all the dark hills and hollows.

Railroads need more conductors and engineers like her. I know exactly where this crossing is, the train is headed to Vardoo yard in Hagerstown MD. I live in Boonsboro Maryland.

I worked for Ledcor at the time of this incident as a Design Engineer. They had a HUGE staff meeting about this and played the video for everyone to see… it was difficult not to laugh. 😅 But it was confirmed the gentleman driving the white Ledcor truck, was on his phone at the time the crash happened. And he was fired immediately. That being said, I do not support/defend that company anymore whatsoever. They are 100% prejudice towards women, and are so disorganized it’s insane. They also constantly had me and the other women on the team work late hours (until 9-10pm at night; some nights I was even up until 2am finishing something they wanted the next day), and we never got compensated for those extra hours. Any amount of time I worked after 5pm was unpaid. Looking back I wish I had documented things more. There are corrupt things going on in that company, it doesn’t surprise me at all an incident like this happened.

If the wire spool on the trailer was heavy, it likely lifted the rear wheels when he braked heavily and fishtailed to lose control of the vehicle.

Whether the challengers slams on their brakes or not, I don’t see how the truck would have avoided it. Going way too fast for what was safe.

The fact that you could drive from Safety Harbor to Clearwater with all the traffic lights and such and still beat this train truly illustrates how slow these tracks have become. I can't help but think of the history of what used to run that line in decades past.
@MarylandAreaRailfan4 ай бұрын
Oh yeah for sure! I was amazed too, hit a few red lights and was congested all the way. I think the track is 10-20mph all the way now.
