Troubleshooting this issue of the mower starting and then turning off. Even have a brand new one sent to us and its doing the same thing. 1) check your brushes on the motor making sure they have not backed out. There is a tab to hold them in 2) The handle safety switch is a common issue. It will start and then stop. SKU 36301289

The problem is with the battery. Ask for a replacement.

It is not the battery, it is the pcborad, you have to change the part

I have same issue but my battery is vibrating up not seating deep and then dies bcs of power connection lost

I washed both filters but I have to use a wedge of wood to keep battery seated to get it to work. Would love an actual fix to keep the battery seated. My plastic battery cover also broke off.

SOLVED : opened up the motor portion (remove batteries and safety key first) and found two black very dirty mesh filters covering the inside of the air intake vents. Washed those and it is now working fine. Also switched to a side chute instead of mulching for thicker grass.

Hi - can you provide more details on where/how you opened to access the mesh filters?

This worked for me, unscrewed the top case which revealed the filters. Then unscrewed what was holding them down, thanks so much!

@@BrianStrader thank you I will attempt this next time I need to mow. Feeling hopeful. My plastic battery cover broke so I have no cover other than I tape it on when I'm mowing

I have the same problem with my new (I've used it 3 times) 48 v (2-24) 5ah mower. I purchased new batteries as backups, but it does the same with old and new batteries.

Make sure it's all the way in there is an additional click it needs to make it will start without the battery being all the way in

I have the same problem with my 80v 5ah battery. Snowthrower will run for few seconds and shuts off, but the light stays on. However, when i use a 80v 2ah battery, it runs fine.

I have the exact same thing happening with my Greenworks Pro 21" mower with the 5.0Ah battery and have been working with the company hired by Greenworks for warranty replacements since May but no replacement battery yet. Were you able to fix the problem for your mower? If so, how?

I have not. When I mow I shove a shim in-between the battery and the plastic to keep it running so I can mow the yard. Mine was bought in 2018 so definitely not under warranty

Same with my weedeater, I can tilt back towards me and it will run for a few more seconds, but if I tilts it forward it won't even start, so it sounds like some sort of level sensor.
