Steve W is one of the best lead singers from one of the greatest rock bands of the rock era. Damn, Steve seems revived! Great to see.

I will hit like on anything with Steve Walsh. I just wish that he would be recognized as the musical genius that he is in his own right instead of being billed as the ex lead singer of Kansas..not that I didn't love Kansas when Steve was singing AND providing amazing compositional skills AND incredible keys. OK Blessed be to you and all the Native Human Spirit Beings

hahaha all the usual naysayers.... same for Journey same for Foreigner..... those bands are still great as are the "new" (not new) singers.... Payne kept Asia afloat.... and produced some great stuff with them.... dont you losers realise...were all gettin older?? heard McCartneys voice lately??? Jon Bon Jovis?? Elton John?? Rod Stewart??? the list of ageing voices on ageing rockers is becoming huge. Problem is.... these guys have to keep doing it..because there is zero new rock band talent allowed to come thru now..its all solo artists...radio friendly Rn B.... simply because its easier for labels and management.... no huge bills..just one sorry ass singer getting auto tuned to a Pro tools automated beat..... so these guys are all you have left.... once this generation are gone...rock is dead.... so take it easy on these guys...they are flying the flag

i guess he forgot to take care of his voice. i know that as you get older your voice changes but some takes care of it. so as they get older theres only litle changes on their voice. just like tom jones and johny matis and others.

This is 5 years ago, but if you've heard his solo album that came out in the last couple of years called Black Butterfly, it seems he has indeed gotten a lot of his voice back. It seems the time off has done him some good. Makes me happy that he's still making some music even after leaving Kansas.

You know, what were the ex-Asia members thinking when they "signed-off" on this band and just...let whomever use the name. John Payne does NOT give John Wettlan's vocals any justice. Tjis...is N O T "Asia"!!!

Geoffe Downes was licensing the name and material. They had plans for a reformation just before JP passed, but he bailed to play with one of the touring versions of YES. Still not ASIA though, at least have one original member...

I'm glad John Payne finally dropped the Asia name and now calls his band Dukes of the Orient. He was awesome fronting Asia and produced some fine music with Geoff Downes, but when the original band reformed that should have been it. Good for him finally seeing the light and hoping for more new music down the road.
@johncolling86296 жыл бұрын
Payne hasn't "dropped" the Asia name at all. He's still doing his version of the band. DOTO is a SIDE PROJECT.
