My condition is different. My mom suffering from colon cancer and currently on pip

Your hint is nice, but useless. The core problem of a micromanager is trust, so you never will get this and especially if you asked for it.

Before you resign. Take all your PTOs including sick leave. The bridge has already been burnt since you cant ask for references and expect your manager not to bring up PIP

Where are these comments coming from?! Jesus. 😮 I’m so sorry you have to deal with these jerks & sorry you had to deal with such a stressful situation at work. 😔 It’s so frustrating, especially when the time you spend at work compiles so much of your day. I once had a group of horrible “mean girls” targeting me when I worked at an Ashley Furniture office in my 30s. I am definitely a ‘sensitive soul’ (or a snowflake as these commenters would say), but I also have 3 brothers & grew up pretty rough & tumble (physically as well as teasing/mocking), my skin isn’t *that* thin. All that to say it got so bad at work that they had me crying in my bathroom almost every day from their little remarks & ostracizing. I’ve always been kind, thoughtful of others, & pretty well liked/popular in my life, so this was really jarring & upsetting since it felt especially undeserved. 😢 I was worried about retaliation in my situation for reporting it & making it even worse 😢 Plus they were very much like Regina George & had those in management fooled, so I may not have been believed. So I am really, really proud of you for going to HR!! That was so brave! 👏❤🎉

Same. Some people are very sneaky and will throw stones and hide their hands to make you look crazy. Eventually I just silently collected receipts and did my job to the best of my abilities so when they tried to grill me again I was confident I could challenge them directly and even jump the chain of command if they didn’t stop being a ball breaker as they say in the Italian mafia movies lol

You get a grocery store cake, balloons, and maybe a lunch break party for giving 30 years of your life to a company. Yeah, thanks for the experience and new skills but I'm staying for 1-2 years and hopping to a place that meets the needs I have in that particular season of life (and ofc the pay bump).

I am a healthcare worker my job is on site and cannot be performed remotely I have never been able to work remotely though I would love to but I would have to leave my field of work. Despite all this I still want everyone else whose job is able to be performed remotely to have the option to do it completely remote. Everyone else at the hospital agrees with me because we are so sick of how bad the traffic is. I pray that me and my loved ones are never on an ambulance on route to the hospital during rush hour😊

In my personal experience, I find PIPs both demoralizing and unethical. Bad managers try to sugarcoat them by saying “Oh, a lot of people go through these. It’s nothing to worry about” but that is just a farce. I have been placed on PIPs before for two previous jobs, and both occurred within the first few months of starting both jobs. Fortunately, I left both before the end of the PIP period. For the first job, I was placed on a 2-week PIP in which my managers met with me to discuss me being behind on my trainings and some mistakes I was making at work. In reality, the work environment was toxic, and some of the trainers there didn’t like me so didn’t bother with my training; then the managers pinned the blame on me rather than coordinate training with the trainers. In addition, there was no training schedule for them to adhere to. Overall, it was a chaotic workplace. For the second job, I dealt with a micromanaging and overly critical boss who held unrealistic expectations (and this was reflected on her 90-day PIP, in which she cited me as being unfamiliar with my colleagues’ roles and duties even though I had just started the job within the past month or two, as well as citing me for a few harmless mistakes I made during my first week on the job). I ended up filing a discrimination complaint against that manager before I left. Not surprisingly, both jobs also had high turnover rates. In short, I think PIPs are a bad management tactic and reflect poorly on the manager’s hiring practices (hiring unfit employees) and inability to properly coach and/or train employees. A good manager coaches and trains employees who are struggling, or at least hires qualified employees so that a PIP isn’t necessitated in the first place.

Recruiters email me wanting to set up a time to talk about a position and discuss my goals. They don't ask for a resume, they only look at my LinkedIn. I have the interviews, and then I get a rejection a couple days later. Are these bogus compliancey interviews?

@allifromcorporate I'm pretty good at spotting the scams, but these were from three well-known tech companies. I think they were just trying to check the boxes and say they interviewed enough people.
