This is not what FBA litsen to or how the dance is done over here and according to documentation ric silver and the group cameo created the electric slide dance and song as we know it. Jamaicans don’t know or do the electric slide so

I am sorry to say it but Bunny Wailer was selfish for the way he handled this song and it's popularity. He wrote it in 1983 and was sang by Marcia Griffiths. It took a couple of years for it to become popular in the late 80's. Bunny got to know about this trend before Marcia and selfishly did his own version with a video clip shutting out Marcia who was at the time trying contact him to discuss the song's resurgent popularity. Thankfully, some top musicians & producers helped her to re-record a new version with a video clip. Long story short, her version outdid that of Bunny's in the charts world wide. A better understanding why he was the first to break away from the Wailers.

As far as roots reggae goes, yes. But he needed to generate income to enjoy his life as well as to leave a financial legacy for his decendants.

I am so glad I got to watch this. Seeing him talk about seeing his mother on the stage performing😊 you could see the love ❤ in his eyes. Surely my heart was warm in my chest. When they were in stage the power of all of them singing all of them understanding not to outshine the other. All great I wanted to sing out . Such a beautiful thing to witness the peace of the people is left in your ❤.

CPRRECTION: This video is not the video of Bunny and Marcia, they never did a video together,he re-recorded this version all by himself in 1989 after the first one he produced with him and Marcia hit the Billboard chart. I was the one who called him and told him that the song took off again with a dance called the Electric Slide. Then instead of joining force with Marcia and promote the one with him and Marcia that he produced, instead he went and re-record a new version ( this one here) without Marcia so he would have total control over it.Guess what it flopped badly and faded into obscurity, never even entered the heatseekers chart. The version that you hear now with Marcia's voice only which went to 51 on the Billboard chart was recorded and produced in 1990 in Miami by the Jerks ( Joe Galdo, Rafael Vigil & Lawrence Dermer) from the Miami Sound Machine group .Bunny had nothing to do with the production he will always get his publishing royalties which he had been getting from 1983. He never paid Marcia any royalty from 1983 up until today, she only started getting mechanical royalty payment when i did a new contract with Island/Mango and Marcia Griffiths directly in 1990.

A true Legend. A musical Griot. Bunny wasn't always credited enough for his contributions to the Wailers. Sometimes he showed resentment but he deserves that credit. And he made great songs of his own . I remember his Liberation and Rock and Groove albums. Rise and Shine was one of my favorite songs. He balanced himself between Roots Reggae and Rub a Dub Style Dancehall quite well. Nuff Respect to the Blackheart Man.
