Mom needs a shout out too. She was careful with her tone despite her fear. Not angry in her panic as many people do, and verbalized her thoughts clearly. All of her children have a fantastic mother.

There’s a lot to be said here. She spun that car around like a pro in a packed car full of anxious kids during a destructive derecho. These boys are very clearly attentive and smart and you can see there’s clearly effort in raising them. Blonde boy should genuinely think big like pilot even heavy equipment etc. he’s very good under pressure Also a cherry on top, she parks better than most of the people I see at the store while again during 80mph+ winds were whipping. Bravo 👏

A tornado touched down near us while visiting Indiana. My family said to run into a store for cover, and I stayed outside to record it... but my baby sister was screaming for me and I couldn't bear it, so I ran to the store to be with her. It was beautiful to see but also incredibly horrifying.

The difference is this is Iowa. Not respecting a storm like this in Iowa is how you die in a tornado. This particular storm caused 26 tornados.
