I've been dealing with this for years, never knew this could be the issue. This was 100% the problem with my battery being drained overnight randomly.

I got one of these and rats ate through the plastic in less than 3 weeks! Cheap crap! Literally ate through one side of the treadle which is now cut through!

Thank you for the helpful video. I've just seen a huge rat eating from my chickens' current feeder so resolved to look in to rat-proof feeders. Very encouraged to hear you no longer have a rat problem!

I had to use a small sledge hammer to get it loose. But greased it up and put it back together and it works like a champ now.

Great setup. We just bought one of the treadle feeders and the hens got used to it in a day. I had to remove the inner adjustable baffle as the feed kept getting jammed and wouldn’t fall into the feed tray. Just a question on the watering setup you have. Does it freeze up? Any ideas on how to prevent freezing of water happening?
@effingpot3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, that watering bowl was a bit feeble but the logic was good. I've replaced the little blue bowl with a flexible hose which leads to the wall where I have installed a sheep drinker which is much bigger and more robust and works much better. It's working really well btw. Not a lot you can do about ice apart from moving somewhere warmer! I make my morning tea and pour the remaining hot water onto the ice from the kettle, which sorts it.

I'm having all kinds of problems. I have a 2004 Ford Expedition. First, I can't seem to open the glass. I get a rattling sound and sometimes the glass opens and sometimes it doesnt. I also can't get the windshield wiper to work. Any suggestions? I used a brand new transmission since the old one was very corroded.

Much appreciate this video. My battery kept on draining and I couldn't figure out why, well this (hopefully) shall solve it. One addition to make is that there is a lock washer under the wiper assembly (outside) that you have to remove before you can remove the shaft.

The feeder is no longer with us so I can't tell you the brand I'm afraid. It was a commercial one and quite sturdy.
