Molyneux is a lovely fishery in a calm valley. Just a few kms from where I live. But ‘near Calais’…. Nope. It is 290km from the Calais ferry port. Same distance as London to Swansea (Wales). Would you describe Swansea as ‘near London’ ?!?!?

Hi, in relation to carp fishing in France, we would absolutely describe Molyneux as 'close to Calais'. We speak to 1000's of anglers each year and generally anything under 3hrs of Calais we'd say was close. In our experience, the vast majority of French carp lakes are further than this from the port of Calais so the location of Molyneux is one of the big positives for many anglers :-)

Emeraude Carp sounds like a dream destination for carp anglers seeking an unforgettable experience in France! With its picturesque setting and the opportunity to reel in carp weighing over 72lb, it's truly a haven for those looking for big catches. Thanks for sharing this gem of a fishing spot

Great trip down memory lane & only seems like yesterday when it all started! (And the Carplines days of course & even further back to Higham where I first met David with his printed tackle lists!) Sending our best wishes to David, Bridget, Heather & the team - hope you are all well. Paul & Liz

My question 10 years later is.. do you use a system which drops the weight? So the fish can't use the weight to remove the hook ?

I think I was the first person to fish Mas Bas when it opened as a commercial fishery and I went back many times fishing at easter, whitsun and in the summer. I still think it is the prettiest lake and area in France that I have been to and when I first went Lotus lake was just that, full of lotus in the summer but full of noisy frogs in the spring. Hope its still going well for Gilles and Lesley

Hi, could you tell me what the average size carp are in there mate, and biggest and smallest. Are there any facilities like showers or anything there, cheers
@anglinglines
@anglinglines Жыл бұрын
Hi, average is in the twenties but there are a number of 30lb+ up to 50lb. We'd class it more as a runs water than a big fish water. Facilities are shower, toilet, fridge/freezers and charging facilities. So everything you need is available but we'd describe the facilities cabin as very basic and a few minutes from the lakeside :-) You can find out more here: www.anglinglines.com/venue/Autels

Considering the bottom and snags you would think leaders would be better for the fish to stop being cut off.
@anglinglines
@anglinglines Жыл бұрын
We agree and the lake have now changed the rules to allow leaders :-) The new rule is as follows: Leadcore leaders are not allowed, but you can use safe abrasion resistant leaders (like the Korda safezone leaders) combined with drop off leads. In all instances, the lead must drop off safely should there be a break off

from the korda under water footage you can clearly see there is a biiiig delay in bite indication when fishing slack.... they would hit in to a fish they knew was on because the camera and have no alarm or bite indication. i think slack is better for pick up but tight defiantly will give you better indication

I found 5 Barbel on the Nene yeaterday, spent a nerve wracking 30 mins of them taking and then spitting out my bread. I need to learn to make my own hair-rigs, because commercial ones just aren’t long enough for two 8mm pellets. I am saddened that there’s many of us trying to fight the huge amount of plastic pollution and micro-plastics that the fish are eating, but so many anglers happily snip their knots and spare line and leave it on the bank. I suppose it doesn’t even register that they’ve done something bad for their own sport.

Thank you for this really thorough tutorial in using a marker float, really appreciate it. I just purchased one now as I"M bank fishing a lot and never know what the lake bottom looks like, so with your help I'll be able to start working my way around this with the marker float next time I go fishing. Thank you!

No one going to mention Hamidis little man bag! What’s that about? Surely a red card and a 3 match ban for bringing that fishing?
