Thanks for your video. Have you ever try to make an arch by drilling holes and put some pixel into it like your windows frames? I never seen an arch with pixels directly installed into pvc tube but into coroplast attached with ti-wrap
@LightsonBrushCreek11 күн бұрын
I haven't seen anyone do that with PVC either. Someone close by our house here outlined their driveway with PVC and drilled the lights directly into it. There's no reason why you couldnt do that on the arches themself though. I guess maybe it might lose some of the strength of the PVC being bent with that many holes in it.

Love your idea for the magnets with the window. I am currently trying to do what you did but I am struggling getting the clamps and washer to stick to the small connecting pvc pipe. How did you glue/connect these together?
@LightsonBrushCreek15 күн бұрын
They aren’t glued. I just put the long screw in, a flat washer, the pvc pipe spacer, the clamp, then a lock washer, then the nut.
@seanb655414 күн бұрын
@ so just a screw through a washer that goes through the clamp and you put the nut on the part of the clamp that touches the connector pipe?
@LightsonBrushCreek14 күн бұрын
That is correct. Needs to be a screw that is flat not rounded so it’s flush.

If I wanted to build just 3 moving Arches and nothing more, what else do I need to build other than this box and the Actual Arches. I’m sorry for my ignorance, but I’ve seen people building boxes for inside the garage, I’ve lost the plot obviously
@LightsonBrushCreekАй бұрын
Depends on how much you want to do. For something small like that, you could get away with this or potentially another small controller. I have a bigger box in my garage to run the full christmas light show. Are you wanting to do it to music, or just some cool effects. If just cool effects, you need nothing more than this and the arches (and power and cords).

Hi, great tutorial, you just showed me a spectacular option that I was looking for, the page for those controllers, but I have a question, if you are using those via WiFi, don't you get lag?
@LightsonBrushCreek2 ай бұрын
@@imercasanovaparra I haven’t really had an issue with lag when running them as permanent lighting during the off season. For my light show though I won’t be using these because of wifi lag. I’ll have them hardwired via a different controller.

Hey bud - I manage the dealer program for EverLights. Is there an email I can contact you at? We love what you did with our lights and want to better serve you.
So I'm less than a minute into the video, and I must say, next video you do try not taking things out of the packaging while you're trying to speak. Just an FYI. Can't hear a dang thing you're saying as you're opening those bags.

30A power supply. That oughta produce quite a bit of heat in that box ?? (about 70Watt I figure) Won't that create an issue?
@LightsonBrushCreek4 ай бұрын
Definitely depends on where the box is located and the climate. It can get warm in there for sure, but fortunately I live where it's not quite so hot. Many people in warmer climates will add a vent or venting fan to the box. Similar to this www.amazon.com/BUD-Industries-IPV-1115-IP32-Vent/dp/B00L3QTZRY?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Excellent tutorial - quick question ( since i'm doing that installation next month ) every how many pixel pods are you injecting power ? those pods are 12 or 5v ? also will the Wasatch controller be able to be part of a xlight setup ?
@LightsonBrushCreek4 ай бұрын
Thanks! These are 12v pucks. I only did power balancing. The front and end of each line are tied together. The longest run I believe was about 170. I only have the one line running from the controller, then it splits off at the first pixel to carry more power to the last pixel. The wasatch controller can work with xlights if you run it as a WLED controller. For the show though I'm just going to run the lights off of a falcon smart receiver since I will have one close by and I always prefer hardwired CAT5 over wifi. Less room for issues. I've done tests though through xlights.
@andrescastro65384 ай бұрын
@@LightsonBrushCreek understood on the pucks, so the initial power wire and i can run a second power wire ( from he PS ) that hook to end of the led pucks run ? is there a reason for a falcon ? wasatch also offer a Pixels Advanced controller that uses ethernet. I'm starting with house lights ( led pucks ) and 1 core prop, but i want to make sure i can get a controller that i can use in the future when i get more advanced and i'm ready to setup a full light show or do you recommend to just get a the $200+ falcon or Kulp controller
@LightsonBrushCreek4 ай бұрын
@@andrescastro6538 I just spliced power from the first pixel to the last pixel. Only one cord coming from the controller. You could run another directly from the PS. If I were to do it again I’d do the wasatch advanced so I didn’t have to deal with wifi. If that were the case then I wouldn’t use the falcon smart receiver for the show. If you’re eventually wanting to expand then you can still use the wasatch for the show or I’d recommend a Kulp K4 for year round pixels or another Kulp. Thats what I use for everything else with the show. You can watch my behind the scenes video for more details there.

I have a couple of the Wal-Mart trees also. Went a different way on the stars. I had some Coroplast left over from my Tune To sign build. I took the star that came with the tree apart and took out the white LEDs. I then took the one side with the flair to mount on the stand, traced and cut out the outline on the Coroplast, and attached it with some bolts and washers. I then drilled 1/2” holes and pushed some extra 5 volt WS2811 I had and tied them to another port on my controller. Only a single row, but they still look pretty good. Might replace them with the 12” double row from Gilbert Engineering for next year.

I didn't indicate in the video, but I cut most the zip ties and moved the lights to make it more dense. Instead of a 360 tree its around 200-220. I think I put it as 200 in xlights.
