My city's community choir just sang this beautiful song in our Memorial Day concert, and I absolutely love it! Gets me every time. This song pretty well sums up my hope for this world.

Nice! But, this choir does not represent America. My eyes may have failed me, as I could not see one single person of color like me or otherwise sing along. I felt as if I did not participate as a member of the armed forces, in celebrating the glory of America.

so nice to see how far and wide this song has travel from its origins in Åland, Finland. Im so glad and pleased as a Ålander that this is so appreciated. We sung this every year in school and i really love it, especially as Åland is a sea-based place.

et Küürios võitis patu ää.... aga tegelt seda pattu POLE KUNAGI OLNUDKI!!!!! vot see kuramuse jehoova ise on üks patu kott.... heheheee :D tema persse lakkujad ongi need ainsad patused.... no ja nendega pole pikka juttu, Küürios ENAM nendega ei tegele, need lähvad katlasse..... sea liha tuleb jo ka kaua kaua keeta, mina keetsin 2,5 tundi eila.... Mega hea jõululaul.... meenuvad 2021 jõulud.... soovitati ju küll sülti keeta, aga arst ütles, et hakka parem paastuma.... ja veganiks..... no ja nüüd on nõnna palju rammu ja väge tulnud, et võib ka sülti ja sinki ja praadi ja pekki.... ikka sea lihast. nämm-nämm. lihtsalt igal asjal oma aeg ja õige aeg on igal tegevusel siin taeva all. aeg süüa ja aeg söömisest hoiduda. aeg kallistada ja aeg kallistamisest hoiduda. jne. no jänkid kipuvad iga asjaga liialdama. mõtlesin, et mis rõõmu trall see olgu, jõulud vaikne ja pime aeg ju.... et milleks selline pilgar ja pidu.... aga tegelt see polegi jõulu laul ültse.... kes ütles ja kus ütles, et see on just JÕULU laul....???? see on rõõmu laul, et Küürios on tulnud. nii et seekord jänkid teevad õigesti. ongi vaja tohutut rõõmu ja pidu ja suurt orkestrit ja valju lauluhäält. I'd forgotten how good this was! "Merano," the original opening chorus of "Chess" (not used on Broadway), was my favorite for its Italian opera flavor, but this is also wonderful. Reminds me a bit of the Bee Gees' instrumental pieces "Seven Seas Symphony" and "With All Nations" from their 1969 "Odessa" album, sharing a similar quality of classical grandeur. Who else finds Jenny Oaks Baker's smile absolutely captivating? When she plays the violin, you can tell she's really feeling it; the joy is evident. (Of course, who wouldn't be filled with joy when performing or hearing the Hallelujah chorus?) I don't understand why Baker has only been nominated for a Grammy. They should just award it to her already!
