No. 🚫. Mahouts (so-called caretakers) cruelty. The only ethical sanctuary I visited during my 2 weeks in Chiang Mai is Elephant Nature Park. Once I learned about Lek Chailert I understood why. This place is close by. I cringed at how they treat a baby and mother. Forced them and other elephants to do things they did not want to do. This is 90% of elephant camps I'm Thailand. Completely abused elephants. If you're not educated on this topic you do not see the signs. They count on ignorance to succeed. They have sharp objects like bullhooks up their sleeves and hurt the elephant into participating same as a circus. I blame people and tourists for not understanding hands-off. I visited to review elephant treatment in Thailand post-pandemic. ** Any camp with activities like riding and forced swimming is obscene. 😢 You should learn what happens to babies by age 4. It's the tragedy of an abusive culture. In summary only Elephant Nature Park Chiang Mai was an ethical experience.

@@LynntheNewf So sorry I couldn't answer that for you. As far as complimentary meals and drinks, we were only offered the standard tea, coffee, pop and juice (as the flight was too short to include meal service). Meals for purchase change from flight to flight, but you can check online on the Air Transat website pre-flight to find out what will be offered for your specific trip. I hope that helps! According to the National Parks website you could see wolves in the area, but as far as I know - it's not likely. Bison for sure as well as Elk, Moose, Deer etc.

Breakfast here was really good. A wide variety so it's great for larger groups. Buffet style with pastries, fruit etc. in the indoor section, and a hot food station as well with eggs, sausage etc. along with rice, noodles and other Asian options.

Can you comment on the construction? Looks like another tower is being built. Is it disruptive?

This construction is still ongoing, but has progressed quite a bit since we took this trip. We had family friends visit in the last few months and they said that while there are still a few disruptions if your room is on that side of the building, the majority of the renovations are happening indoors in that building. When we were initially there and construction was at its worst, we weren't bothered by it much then but our room was in the furthest tower away.

We didn't tour one, but I did poke my head into a sky bath room during cleaning haha. They're a little smaller than the studio suite in this video, but still fairly spacious. Similar views, but they have a bathtub out on the balcony. Looks lovely if you're a bath person, but they aren't super private. You'd probably want to keep a swimsuit on haha

Yes that was my concern for this year, I’m an artisan and was wondering how well hand thrown pottery mugs would do at this event. I’m not sure it’s the right venue for pottery

Oooooh, yeah I can see why you'd be concerned. It would probably be the right demographic, but not sure how sure the event would be set up for the sale of that. They may have a good plan in place (they did seem pretty organized last year) but it would be a risk for sure.

Not that I can recall - there definitely wasn't any near the VIP tent. I believe there was somewhere you could purchase a flower crown and a few little instagrammable setups, but everything else was food and drink. That said, this year they seem to have an artisan vendor application on the SOMMO website, so there's a chance they'll be more there this year than just the food and beverage tents.

Yes, still in Alberta but traveling as much as possible (especially through the winter haha). I completely understand what you mean about getting out of your comfort zone though. We only live this life once though, so I've always tried to live by the idea that if there's somewhere you want to go / something you want to see ... you should go for it! Worst case scenario, you don't love where you end up and you just go back (never having to wonder if you should have gone for it!) Easier said than done - I know haha but it gets easier every time!

@@tltravel wow it was wonderful thank you for your advice to be honest i love where i am in Toronto but it's just so expensive that nothing left for us new generation i once immigrated to Canada I'm from Iran and it's really hard to do that again especially now as i follow the real state there is an insane competition in edmonton and Calgary for buying houses and prices are going up like no tomorrow.

@@soroushrezazadeh8300 this is so true. I was born in the Toronto area and it is sad to see how difficult (expensive) it is to live there now. Edmonton is still affordable (compared to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary etc) but you do sacrifice some of the benefits of being in other big cities. Living in Edmonton allows us to have extra money to travel though. I don't think we could do these big trips if we stayed in Toronto, sadly.

If you ask me there is nothing to sacrifice in Toronto it's just the move and getting used to the new situation is the only challenge. My last question if you don't mind between new Brunswick and alberta what are the main deferences? I would like to move there better but i don't know why people choose alberta these days over east coast in general. Thank you.❤️

@@soroushrezazadeh8300 haha yes you said it right! I think between Alberta and New Brunswick, New Brunswick is much smaller and more relaxed .. plus the ocean is close! Alberta has the mountains which is nice, but I think people come to Alberta more because you can make more money here .. more opportunities. I would love to live on the east coast one day though! New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. So beautiful 😍

Yes, the beach in front of the resort is accessible and swimmable, but there isn't a ton of resort seating available on the beach due to the tides. At high tide you're more likely to stick to the pool (which has an ocean view)

They seemed to have all the typical things like yoga, water aerobics, latin dancing and so on, as well as cultural ceremonies like the cleansing ritual I shared in this video. We were provided a schedule when we arrived.

Since the resort is not on the beach, do you still get drinks/food included when you are the beach? Or is that then considered off site?

When you shuttle down to the beach club they will check you in there and your food and drinks are still included. Essentially just like it would be if the beach club was attached to the resort.

Absolutely! This is a Junior Suite Tropical View and we really enjoyed it. If it's in your budget, preferred club class is nice as you do get an additional a la carte dining option for lunch (to avoid the buffet) and a preferred only pool area, but truly it didn't seem like there would be a bad option there.

So the shopping part of the market (the stalls and solid immovable shops) are open on weekdays, but the full farmers market (more like what I showed here) is only open on the weekend from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm

Yes, you only get access to the Preferred Club with Preferred Club rooms. So in this case that's an additional sit-down restaurant during the day, preferred club pool and (if you get a massage at the spa) access to the hydrotherapy room there before your service. Nice extras, but I wouldn't say your experience would be ruined without it either. We had no issues getting great spots and great service at the non-preferred club pools.

The beach is just too far away.. We like to go on a warm beach vacations, place is nice and modern, so we were going to splurge a bit, but it's just too far from the beach. We decided to go somewhere else.

We never had any issues with service in the areas we visited, however we only used the SIM once or twice for calling and the rest of the time we just used the data. So I can't speak to call quality.
