Thanks for this most professional account of the big day. This was the first time boats were lifted onto the sand at low water, a bold experiment that opens up more options for the future. Well done, everyone.

Simon Parker Thanks, Simon. I didn't know that was the first time the boats were lifted onto the sand. It was very well handled, I must say.

Thanks, Aran. I couldn't make out Ross' surname on the recording and had a bugger of a time trying to track you down, presuming you spelled your name with two a's, like my own middle name. Glad you like it.

Outstanding video and truly challenges the natural urge to dismiss the good points of where you are from. As someone who works a lot at a European level with young people and youth workers I will be delighted to use this as a snapshot of our wonderful town! Luke Maloney soundtrack is a bonus! :)

Fair play to you Dave. A moving testimony. I wasn't there but this event seems to have been a beautiful coming together of the community in Bray and you have captured that very well in your video.
@BrayTube10 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Niamh. It was definitely a 'beautiful coming together of the community'. It was great to see people of all ages out for the event. There were so many people there who had lost family and friends to suicide. I'm old enough to remember a time when they couldn't have remembered or celebrated their loved ones so publicly. Things are moving in the right direction.

Such a beautifully creative video. It encompasses life. The beautiful faces, the color, the energy and the movement of the city is so rhythmic. Very nice ebb and flow.Keen artistic eye , the photographer has indeed. And the music..Well, after all it is Mr. Dylan..so it is perfect.

1:09 I remember one day as a kid in the 80's standing outside the Town Hall, noticing the bizarre statue for the first time. Only now have I looked it up on the internet: Standing in front of the Town Hall is a unique stone fountain with a statue of a wyvern on top, which has frequently been mistaken for a devil by locals. The wyvern is a mythological creature whose upper half is a dragon and whose lower half is a serpent or viper. The wyvem come from the Meath coat of arms and in the windows of the council chamber (now the Heritage Centre) in the Town Hall, wyverns can be seen in their correct armorial colours of gold, with red wings and limbs, collared and chained in gold. Water troughs were erected at several junctures around the fountain.

Great video. (the scraping of dog poo from shoes at 1:16 could be edited out though!)
@BrayTube10 жыл бұрын
Sorry, Andrew, I love that shot! To be honest, I don't think it was dog dirt they were scraping. I think it was some kind of residue from the roadworks you can see behind them. Who knows? They haven't come forward yet! ;¬)
