Religious group like the Mormons also went to Mexico for freedom, they were persecuted in the U.S. for bigamy, though in Mexico its illegal for Mexicans, as today, many Mormons, the Amish and others, see them in Mexico all the time

Absolutely love your channel. Always captivating subjects. Been a follower since 2020 when I was stuck on away with work on ship for 5 months off the coast of Africa during the first worldwide lockdown. Couldn’t get home so we were essentially stranded. During my night watches on the bridge I’d binge watch your videos. Helped me a lot to get through that time. So thank you. I’ve since rewatched those videos and they’re just as interesting.

It must've got quite confusing on that Chinese battlefield, Wu and Yue must sound just the same with the noise of battle going on.I bet their was a lot of Wu Wu and YueYue casualties as well as Wu Yue casualties and Wu Wu suicides.Either way its very sad and many YueWu died in the attwocity

Excellent video and story , incredible how a painting can in a way, bring a sense of justice to people who suffered such a horrific fate.

The narrator talks fast, hard to comprehend as watching. Sad as this age-old history is bizarre. The story needs to be heard to ensure this evil doesn't ever happen again.

I’m a long time viewer of your video essays, but I’m also a working artist in the film industry. I understand that when working with tight budgets there is an enormous appeal in using AI artwork I hate it Not only because I’m morally and ethically against ripping off artist’s work, but because Ithink your work had more authenticity and verisimilitude when you used period appropriate/classic paintings and illustrations to give your essays some visual excitement. But in this case, where you literally mention (and use) one of the most famous paintings in the art world, even highlighting Théodore Géricault’s incomparable artistic ability and achievements, smacks of either wanton ignorance or belligerent indifference. Please do better.

The powerful never suffered, the masses perished and struggled. Gruesome tale. What happened to the 17 men on board the Medusa? How did those 3 men manage to survive? Any information on that Professor?

Dieppe on the northern coast of France is allegedly massively haunted since Canadian and British troops failed to gain a foothold on French soil in 1942. Witnesses have reported sounds of battle, tanks, landing craft approaching the beaches and low flying fighter aircraft over the beaches on countless occasions.
