I HATE this scene. If he was crying because he was lamenting the fact that his father couldn’t experience what he just did, it wouldn’t have been the hysterical ugly cry. It would have been reflective, sad. They just went for the cheap joke.

I've been a Barber for 30 years, I say this because several years ago I had a client, Last Name Rogers. He had been a driver for Shelby American, and had even set a speed record for a track somewhere (can't recall) in a Cobra 429 RC (? It's been about 18 years, I've since moved to S.W. Florida) he gave me a great photo of the Cobra, with Shelby standing beside it. He'd loaned it to the Carrol Shelby Museum, where Shelby had a crew restore it, hence the photo. Rogers had raced the Big Cobras, GT 350 Mustangs and the GT40s. I asked him which he liked best, and he said "The Cobras were great, the GT40 was so wicked that it wasn't so much fun as a wrestling match with a wild animal, but the Mustangs had incredible power, but we're strangely 'Friendly, like driving a regular mustang almost, so you could have fun racing them!'" just thought I'd put his perspective on here. Just a fine guy, even as an older man he had one of those Shelby Mustangs...

@Yern-p2i16 күн бұрын
Lol. It never happened. The movie is almost entirely fictional. And the "Ford GT40" was in reality the British Lola Mk6 renamed as the "Ford GT40" because Ford was writing the checks. The team was British, based out of Eric Broadley's shop in Slough England. Driver Ken Miles was British. Even the Ford engines were built in Britain, using British parts. Ford won Le Mans four times, using British Lolas. Toyota has won Le Mans five times, using Toyotas. Ferrari has won Le Mans TEN times, using Ferraris. And Porsche OWNS Le Mans with NINETEEN wins, all using Porsches.

Let's remember something: Originally, Henry Ford Sr. wanted to do nothing related to racing. *To his (grand)son, saying that, of a company that literally wanted nothing to do with racing cars, Ford II really meant his father had to see in person what his legacy has achieved.*

Henry Ford II wasn't Henry Ford's son. Edsel Ford was Henry Ford's son. Henry Ford II was Edsel Ford's son.

@@HirokaAkita Happy to help. Did you know that the "Ford GT40" wasn't a Ford? It was the British Lola Mk6 with the word "Ford" stuck on it, because Ford was writing the checks. The team was British, the driver was British, even the Ford engines were built in England using British parts.
