Great video, but all of your videos go over the same points and is in your drive just with you talking. Try to at least switch up the location a bit and try not to go over points you’ve already done videos on, that’s if you want viewers, assuming you do if you’re uploading this to KZbin

@@liambowers666 Hi. On the "X years ownership" videos I take the point but to a new viewer they will want to know everything I have done to the car at that time as they may not of seen the previous video. However, I have to take exception on the assertion of covering the same subject matter repeatedly. I have done over 50 video's on my McLaren. Only 5 of these are summary, time of ownership video's. I've covered: custom phone mount, ceramic coating, exhaust upgrade, mapping, lowering springs, air filters, Hardwear upgrades, custom steering wheel, servicing, custom carbon parts, aftermarket batteries, aero, sound system, all individually, plus many others. How these can be viewed as the same, I'm not sure. I do this as a hobby, for fun, on a phone and in one take mostly. I do it to pay back to the community to help other enthusiasts avoid problems and make good choices. This is why I post in all the ownership groups. I'm not really bothered how much my subscription grows as I do it for fun and to help others. As far as I'm aware nobody else produces as much unbiased and independent McLaren specific modification content. I have a busy life so don't have the time to set up locations or edit things properly but I'm happy to share my experiences with anyone who wants to take advantage of the knowledge I have curated through trial and error.

@ if that’s your objective, fair enough makes total sense. As someone who’s come across a few of your videos whilst waiting for delivery of my McLaren, they’ve definitely helped pass the time and been informative, but thought I was in a state of de ja vu watching this one and found myself skipping 😉 again, if they’re set in the context you’ve described, makes total sense. Enjoy it and hopefully will see you out at an event some time!

@@frankieritenour3354 the sidewall number: 35 is a proportion of the tyre width. Therefore, let's say you have a 280 width tyre with a 35 side wall and you replace it with a 300 width tyre with a 35 side wall your tyre will have a larger overall diameter. In order to maintain the diameter as you increase the width you have to decrease the side wall. Therefore, I moved from 285 width tyres with a 35 side wall to 305 with a 30 side wall 👍🏻

In mechanical terms they've both been perfect. The Mclarens Achilles heal is it's electronics and software. Due to the manufacturing process, the owner is the Beta tester... Has it ever stranded me? No. TBH since I dispensed with the OEM battery and associated control module, its been good as gold.

Re the corrosion, is it happening at a fold/seam of the aluminium? Depending on how the bodywork drains and holds water, the seams can be in contact with water during the period of storage. Add British weather and salt and the chance of corrosion is intensified. Once you have a paint correction, you could try protecting the area with an oil. Do this on the other side.

@supacarbaldy38263 ай бұрын
There generally aren't any problems with the drive train and engine. But all the cars you mention above are mass production. You won't get the same build quality and reliability with a small volume car.
@Spenny9093 ай бұрын
It may take some adjustment to be happy to deal with reliability issues when moving away from Porsche. But if you can do it, you can open yourself up to some very fun cars. Consider also the Ferrari 458, 488, F12, although, these might be over budget in your market? True exotics could be Noble and TVR. McLaren and Lotus would give you the driving pleasure you would be used to in a 911, Lotus giving you change for maintenance

@@supacarbaldy3826 I get what you're saying. And your 570 is a beautiful car. But not sure I agree with the mass production vs reliability comment. @@glenmiester So Ferrari, McLaren etc all the same. If Porsche design a new door they go to the VAG testing lab who bolt it into a robot jig that opens and closes it 10,000 times to make sure it works. McLaren design it, try and think of any possible issues, then build it. That's the difference 👍🏻

Slightly less if independent. - Tax is 190 on cars registered after April 1st 2017 or 680 for earlier models. - Then what ever your insurance is.
