Sword/Shield had the worst story in any Pokemon game (ESPECIALLY the post game with Swordward and Shielbert) but I LOVE Hop's character development. Most rivals just end up being experience farms at the end and stand at a certain area for eternity. But Hop changes and evolves. He starts out wanting to defeat his brother and become the champion. But he loses to you multiple times AND loses to Bede. That shatters his confidence and he no longer knows what he wants to do. But being with the player and Sonia, he realizes he loves Pokemon research and eventually becomes her assistant, but will still battle with you in the league Doubles. That's why I dont hate Sword/Shield. I just hope they fired whatever dumb ass came up with Swordward and Shielbert. Fired them into the sun with a giant rocket.

I think they work well as the bait rival, since we all know about Wally now but back in the day anyone would expect them to follow the past games formulas of having your rival as the person that picked the other starter only for a 180° later where they simply realized pokemon battle aren't for them, having a unenvolved fits that perfectly to reflect that training to battle isn't their thing, the changing teams even reflecting a sense of caring more for catching and only battling the less possible, that's why they even never go beyond 4 pokémon in battle but i like to imagine their box is packing.

The fact that Erika had a Gloom in Yellow, a Bellossom in GSC, a Vileplume in FRLG, and back to Bellossom in HGSS bothers me immensely. Back before FRLG, Yellow was indisputably the canon Gen 1 game, hence Persian statues in the Rocket base, Blaine getting his long-awaited Magmar, and of course Red having all three starters. Where was Vileplume during HGSS, Game Freak?!? WHERE THE HELL WAS VILEPLUME?!?

*Bigger solution:* JUST MAKE ONE VERSION. The reason why people play the third version its because its complete. But for greedy reasons, they keep posting two versions, and people are dumb enough just buy both. Tell me, why keep posting two versions? Emerald and Platinum solved this problem, but obviously, one version = less money to the billionaire company.

You were asking Why it learns two moves and before that you said it's just bricks. That's all you said about it. There was no context of anything, you straight up implied that a pile of rocks couldn't use these psychic level abilities, which makes it literally just rocks since there's nothing else. I have no idea how I "refused" to understand 2. In general, a lot of "lore" people used were theories with almost 0 evidence. Without a specific example I can't continue to answer this. 3. Shorts were 60 seconds at the time this was made, so I can't exactly go in depth on everything I say in it. 4. If you are a Nature-match hunter, Sānaito with any neutral Nature is the best in Emerald. Since its moveset is limited, you are able to get Neiti from the Safari Zone that may have Synchro, but it is a Jouto Pokémon.
