wow thank you for sharing have always wanted to give this a try. you've made it easier now. question, If I want to add more books in do I just add more elastic over the first book?
@beebearts-bethfranks37668 күн бұрын
@sharonabdullah YES, you can. If you watch my video...Traveler's Notebook Setup...I show how to put a total of 5 different notebooks in using additional elastic bands. Thanks for watching. Hope you have a happy and healthy New Year 😊

Thank you for making this video! Your punch modification is genius. My favorite paper is only sold as single sheets or flimsy glued pads, so I just purchased supplies today to make my own sketchbook for soft pastel work.

This is an awesome and unique way to make a book. I recently cut some acrylic and watercolor media paper into 2x2, 3x3 and 4x6 squares and I wanted to put them into a mini "sketch" book. This is a perfect idea to adhere the squares onto the pages. I am going to try this. Thank you for the inspiration.❤🎉😊

This is genius! This can go further out to even dividing the paper into 4 x 8 or even 8 x 8 squares for a mini version with more pages. Thanks for this!

Oh you magically appeared on my YTube feed!!🤩💜👍🏾🥰🎉 I created a WC Art journal like that for my recent WaterColorMonth2024 prompts. It was smashing, as I had more fun creating and decorating my journal than water coloring the actual prompts. Weird, yep!! 🎉😂 Thank you so much!😊 🙏🏾🎶💜

BRILLIANT!! I'm so glad I found this, I never thought about using an old purse I bought long ago..you had me cracking up both at you and myself. I'm a DIY'r too. It really struck me when (if not making your own journal wasn't enough AND the notebooks) you finally broke down and actually BOUGHT a couple of pens..I found that hilarious 😂because in a DIY'r world we would make the pens if we could!! Thank you so much!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. The best part of repurposing objects is creating something useful with what you have as opposed to storing it in the closet and it becoming clutter. As for making pens....I have carved dip pens out of bamboo sticks....does that count? 🙂

this is such a great idea! I haven used the Arc punch but as you said, the holes are too close to the edge. I have used quilt template plastic for covers but they got brittle and broke. I still love the idea, though! I made one using my 2 hole punch that I use the most. I use binder rings to hold them together and they are secure. My cover is some teal fake snakeskin that wraps around with a flap that has an elastic loop that holds it shut.

I have made a few of these over the years using different sized papers. I love working in them and when they are full, you cam lay them out flat and see them all at once! You can use the pages singly or unfold as man my as you want. I discovered that I have lost track of what to cut, so makinga practice one out of copy paper first saves me frustration and paper! You can make them portrait or landscape, depending on which folds you cut.
@PamBuchanan Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for posting this tutorial! You make clear & simple. I've made small one page books for writing but never thought to make this as a sketchbook. I suggest an alternative binding. Hedi Kyle's non-adhesive binding is great. You will "lose" the first and last panels of the book, however you can use watercolor paper for the covers and have 2 surfaces to paint on. I have so many new ideas for art (not specifically for writing) books. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
