Hello, that’s probably the only best way to come to Japan at this point. They pay the most but you might get stuck in the countryside while you may or may not like. I hope that helps!

they only allowed Dutch, because at the time Japan actually had most contact with Portugeese. But the Portugeese were VERY religious people, who thought that their main mission was to spread their religion. The Dutch were also regilious, but thought that their most important mission was to make money. So they convienced the Japanese rulers that if they would allow Portugeese to spread their religion, the newly converted Japanese people would no longer believe that their rulers had divine mandate to rule - thus be more inclined to become rebels. source: I'm Dutch, and this is what our Dutch tourguide told us.
