The average sale price in Winnipeg is $436,000. There isn't a true average above list price though as it really is house-specific, area-specific, etc. Prettier houses tend to be more aggressive on the bidding wars. Sometimes too, there can be 15 offers on one house and it will sell only $20,000 above list price. Other times we see 2 offers on a home and it can sell for $100,000 above list price. There are a lot of factors at play!

I just moved up to Winnipeg from the States with my family. My folks grew up here, and I've always wanted to live in Winnipeg. This video really helped sell us on St. B, and it's now where we live. We absolutely LOVE it, and feel like the stars absolutely aligned to make it work. It's like a gem of a neighbourhood within a gem of a city.

The exams were different when we took them. But we are told if you can do the practice questions, they are quite similar to the exam.

Dugald is soooo close to Winnipeg. To the Winnipeg perimeter, it is only a 6 minute drive. It is a developing community - think small, prairie town with new houses going up. It's a great community!

Yes, parts of it did flood in 1997. I found an article with the map here: www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/1997_manitoba_flood/. However, that was prior to the enhancements to Duff's Ditch.

My wife got an excellent job in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1996. We bought a house and moved down there and were there for 9 years and had exactly zero problems with crime of any sort. Little Rock had so many wonderful people and great things to do, we greatly enjoyed so many things during our time there. Here’s the odd part, we had no idea that Little Rock had one of the highest murder rates in the USA for cities of its size, the kind of murder rate that Winnipeg would gladly point out they did not have. BUT the violence in Little Rock was almost exclusively between certain types of people and happened in certain neighbourhoods and we had no idea it even existed (this was before social media and smart phones). Yes, anything can happen in most any city, but don’t let crime statistics make you fearful when considering places to live, do your research on the best places in your destination city and when you make your move it’s highly likely you will be fine. I’m 18 right now and live about 4 hours north of winnipeg, some family here but would like to move here not badly but it would be nicer than my town. I was looking at studio apartments near downtown and they seem good for me I already know alot of winnipeg its like my second home

my favourite thing about winnipeg is how big of a rainbow there is when it comes to culture, legit, there is always something going on, where you hear or even see parades/walks down broadway to celebrate culture. it's beautiful and i love it.

I live in Iowa, and we also have winter and construction season. You mentioned wondering what is different in North Dakota...the population of Winnipeg alone is about the same as the ENTIRE state of North Dakota. Maybe they have good roads because there is no one driving on them. :)
