I have known most of them for many years, one all his life and we should get down on our knees and thank God for them. I forgive you for calling Frater Martin Marie, spastic. I’m glad you brought up the Liberty story. Phil Tourney is a Catholic (he’s not practicing). He told me when I met him about 8-9 years ago that he remembers seeing one of his catholic shipmates, on his knees, praying his rosary as the ship was under attack. He was one of the casualties. I met and continue to correspond with another survivor, Ron Kukal, whom I met through a friend in my rosary group (Ron is not Catholic but is open to the doctrine). Ron was beneath the deck when the torpedo hit the side of the ship. It was Phil Tourney who pulled him out of the water filled cabin. Ron was kicked out of two of his churches, because he tried to tell his pastors what happened to them that day. Some people just don’t want to know the God’s honest truth of not only what happened that day, but how our US govt colluded with Israel, and were willing to sacrifice American lives. Thankfully, it was God’s Hand that kept that ship afloat so the survivors story could be told. Please listen.

After listening to this account three times, I'm struck by how similar this situation was to our Blessed Lord being captured in the garden. Fr. Francis did everything he could, especially as he was so young and inexperienced. Abp Thuc was completely resigned to the will of God. In holiness, he was at peace.
