A friend of mine and I went to NYC in the summer of 2000 and visited the Chelsea Hotel. We were hoping to browse around the stairwell and see where some of it was shot. The desk staff were real jerks though and wouldn’t let us even in the building unless we paid for a full reservation though. I wouldn’t recommend trying to go there because of the crummy money-hungry staff.

So let me get this straight… the director, who had a relationship with a 15 year old and then got her knocked up at 16 when he was in his 30s, wrote a script where a 40+ year old man had sexual relations with an 11/12 year old who was played by a 13 year old… WTF??

This is sick, you do realize this, right?

Although this song was used in Goldeneye, it was originally intended to be used in this film for the end credits. You can hear the melody near the end after Matilda leaves Tony's place (after the final shootout).

They had such great chemistry and I understand that in the original script the two slept together, but it was removed because the producers were afraid of what North American audiences would think. France basically didn't have an age of consent law until a few years and May December romances were common.

I don't think anyone can truly grasp the complexity of these characters. Even greater is how a great Director brings them to life. I have seen this numerous times and each time I see more. My mother was French born and raised, as such I adore Jean Reno and Edith Pilaf.

لكنه في منتهى الفلم اقتحم العقبة و الصعوبات و انهى مشاكل البنت و قضى او حاول القضاء على المفسدين اعداؤها (( فلا اقتحم العقبة و ما ادراك ما العقبة فك رقبة او اطعام في يوم ذي مسغبة )) صدق الله العظيم ... كانت المفترض رجال الدين فعل ذلك يقول الرب

What a great film Leon is.

Even "The Fat Man" was a genius casting. Don't worry about that last sigh dude, it was a brilliant end to a brilliant bit. It felt like genuine relief to absolute fight or flight fear. Dude.

When he says "diverse cities" he meant they lived in different cities. Not the modern version of "diverse"

I would have liked if Gary Oldman spoke a few times to give us his insights. He is a superb actor.

A truly great movie. I've watched it many times and it doesn't seem to get old. Reno, Portman and Oldman (Oldman!) were at their best imo. I find it sad that Portman looks so bitter now, trashing the movie (traumatizing) and Paris.

When will we ever see Matilda the Professional?

am i the only one to be disturbed by this bunch of pedophiles? really. when Jean Reno mentioned how he idolized woody Allen i was a bit confused then came the explanation of the story that was uncut. holly hell! really? the detector's girlfriend was with the director at age 14 and knew him at age 12 because she was with the detector's friend at the time!!! really???? she said it was normal????? what age did she start having sex? it's ok because in France it's different and everyone understands!!! really? and how saddened the director was because they laughing at the uncut showing because like me i just dismissed it not knowing they were full on pervs. because the odience don't understand pedophilia? really? great Woody Allen? really. director did not want a 14 year old who knew what sex was he wanted a 12 year old virgin who knew nothing in stead?? Really????? holly crap. why the police is not on this is completely behold me.

I don’t know what the creators of this movie think. It seems they think a girl in that situation won’t be traumatized for the rest of her life. If they do think a girl would be traumatized, then all the girl viewers will be traumatized as well. Tell me I am wrong that they think a young girl such as Natalie deserves to be brought up this way and that makes her more interesting (promiscuous) as an adult.
