Ofcourse its always a political decision since "price floors" will be an unfair punishment for the consumer who desperately NEEDS his money to BUY empty trash. Would there be any risks at all for the small farmer without so much wasted capital on private industries that sell THE SAME product that may well be offered through one large entity that wouldn't exclude them?

This video goes deep into what an economy is all about, I feel people often mistake economy for a caring master. And in fact all it looks for (as I understand) is producing wealth.

After Wells Fargo fraudulently opened 3 accounts in my name with my SSN, I moved my mortgage to a local credit union and never looked back. I even get a cash back bonus at the end of the year since its a non-profit. They have all the technology of the big banks but without the horrid fees and waiting on a phone line forever to talk to someone.

The paradox of thrift mainly becomes a problem when income inequality reaches such extremes that the capitalists have effectively taken so much out of circulation that there isn't enough to go around for the rest of us. Corners have to be cut to maintain profit margins, so wages are suppressed, workers are laid off, and people become less financially capable of functioning as healthy consumers. As a result, people don't buy things, and so it isn't as profitable to produce them, more people get laid off, more corners get cut, and the problem self perpetuates.

I have friends who became doctors, directors, superintendent, etc. it depends on the parents, telling kids to stay in school. I am so sick of seeing videos putting my city down........

Wisdom: The Federal Reserve is controlled and owned by the Family Rothschild and a few others. They own most of the central banks in Europe and the Western Hemisphere. The reason we have wars and financial meltdowns is because the Rothschild family is scamming and in control of continents. This family is the head of the covert government as per retired FBI Chief of Los Angeles, Dallas, Memphis and Washington D.C.--Ted L. Gunderson. This will not be said by professors or economics experts, neither will a reporter such as this man state the truth as I have. The Rothschild Family is worth in the hundreds of trillions of dollars. The Rothschild family has stolen the money of many nations and stored it all away for themselves.

Pam And what the hello have conservative people done to help anyone at all who isn't white and rich? Nothing. Look at the conservative southern state, all with conservative govenors. They are lowest in literacy, obesity, jobs, income, and crime. Mississippi is the embarrassment in the U.S., dead last in every negative category.

Businesses choose to take out loans if they believe their ROI will be greater than the interest rate on the loan. While many factors contribute to a business' expectations of future profitability, if more saving equates to lower interest rates, businesses will see a bigger incentive to invest. This would lead to more capital expenditures and fixed investment and in the long run, increased productivity and supply. I think the paradox of thrift is more applicable to short run demand shocks.

I think the first video is more fair than the first one, even with the fact in mind that the video part clearly favours Hayek. (Keynes being the binge-drinker) The second video counts 40 lines by Keynes, and 56 by Hayek, it also features Hayek clearly winning a boxing match from Keynes. I like the videos, but we shouldn't pretend it's unbiased.

Available to loan to a company to invest in productive assets, and who are these companies ran by? People, and what are people increasingly doing in this paradox, saving. So there are less loans being taken out, less production, less entrepreneurship, less demand. Less demand results in lower market prices, which then reduces the incentive to supply, reducing the incentive to produce, so there are now less suppliers and of those, less willing to take out loans and 'invest in productive assets'.

5:50 he says the government isn't going to punish millions of people for the mistakes of a few....what does he call the US government spending trillions of TAXPAYER dollars to bailout the bigwigs and preserve their wealth and malinvestments? I'm pretty sure that would be called stealing from the taxpayer, except in this case it was made legal.

Not popular. true. doesn't make it wrong. I've found that often the right thing to do is unpopular or the hard thing to do. And as far as Greece. They're in the position they are now because they racked up an insurmountable debt because they wanted the govt to provide them with too many entitlements. still do. the reason they're rioting over the govt cuts is because a) they're not used to doing for themselves, and b) the cuts are being forced by the countries that have to bail them out.
@SuperNache12 жыл бұрын
There's a reason that people aren't spending the money in the near term and that's an important market indicator. To try to coax consumption while people are wanting to save and invest in the future screws up markets and creates an even worse recession in the future. you end up with markets trying to satisfy demand in the near term while simultaneously trying to invest in the long term. That's how bubbles are created.
@Kuboll212 жыл бұрын
Thats true in the long run, but what about the recesion the paradox creates in the short run? The short term changes may be so devastating they will affect they whole long term balance.
