I grew up listening to this guy...forever hoping for a "hoover" or a "can of corn". Radio, KDKA...$4.50 tickets R field, purchased dahntahn at the ticket office next to the Stanley Theater, 3 Rivers brand new. Went to last three games at Forbes Field, all 3-2 victories over the Cubs if memory serves. Opener at 3 Rivers, lose to Reds. Took the O's in 7 to win the series. Roberto Clemente MVP...but yinz all know this already...I miss Pittsburgh, should never of left

What a nice piece of nostalgia! As a fan of older cars, this is chock full of beautiful examples of automobiles from the past. Thanks for putting this up. I certainly enjoyed a nice walk down memory lane.

Even though I couldn't really follow the story, it reminded me how much I still miss the Gunner to this day. He played a major role in my becoming a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirate fan.

The one and only Bob Prince. 😂 My dad couldn’t stand to listen to him. Prince drove him nuts because he never stopped talking. As a kid, I love when the Old Gunner was calling a game. He had so many crazy phrases. 🤣

I was a young kid when I began following the Pirates and Prince was the broadcaster. He was so enjoyable. "A bug loose on the rug." "Chicken on the Hill with Will." "Foul by a gnat's eyelash."

Not bad , a little slow in parts but given that some of these kids have never seen a Steele band live they did well.

1. Your father's segments were almost always entertaining, and typically educational in one respect or another. He did good work. 2. Somehow, some way, I knew as I was watching this, Armstrong County was involved. Sure enough, your father's last word in the report - "Kittanning" - confirmed it.

As a kid following the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 60's and early 70's, Bob Prince made the games come to life on the radio. He was what made listening to the Pirates so enjoyable and great. Those days are long gone and they will never be replaced. At the time we had no idea what we were listening to. But today we now know how great Bob Prince was. His voice and style is missed.

Amen to that. Lanny and Milo were so vanilla and lifeless after many years with the Gunner. Never the same.
