on a side note before i started the engine i poured hot water down the raw water filter to clear any blockage , you know it ok when the water drains out at a reasonable pace

you have just answered why it was the catamarans fault in the collision (failure to ensure safe passage), theres also the fact that he ignored colregs and didn't steer to his starboard to avoid collision(twice) before entering the narrow... the power boat positioned itself correctly and couldn't have been any further to starboard as it was passing through the narrow.....the catamaran had clear site of the oncoming vessels and failed to take the required actions to ensure a safe passage...the reason it looks like the powerboat was going faster is that this narrow has 'up to' a 4 knt current and therefore requires boats travelling with the current to go faster to have control over their vessel as they enter the area restricted by the width...@@boblister665

The catamaran needs to be on the right side (from camera view) because of his mast and the bridge. The other boat should have expected that and was way to fast. So the small boat was clearly at fault.

Don't know the rules for this place but I know, where I boat, we have same kind of inconsiderate assholes who don't know their ass from an anchor. Here, you buy boat- you are a boater and that's a really bad idea. Normally, sails have the ROW but both boats under power - then, Larder boat ROW - but come on people! slow the fk down and communicate - both people assumed they have ROW in their arrogance - So, please follow up with the situation and who was cited. That was an expensive dumbass attack for both of them.

Sim and standing practice on boat plus got to replace ropes and stitch small tear in mainsail and replacing starter motor as it won't turn even after cleaning
