I really love that variation of Henry’s Sad Theme at 1:54, and I’m just wondering who made it and where can I find it.

Fantastic performance. Thanks so much for posting it. I saw it on Broadway a couple of months after Linda Ronstadt was replaced by Maureen McGovern.... and again later when Peter Noone ( of Herman's Hermits) had joined the cast. This and Les Miz are the only two Broadway shows we ever saw twice. And as others have noted, the movie was good but nothing compared to the live performance. Bravo!

I really enjoyed hearing a femme voice narrating around 19 minutes! And with such crisp enunciation. It was a pleasure to listen to!

There's a first: Gordon being the one to rescue Edward. Helping Lady Hatt serves as a sweet bonus. 😁👍 I guess this means Henry will be taking the Express until all the bad coal is replaced? 😉

I can't believe the TV show never thought about putting James and Daisy in a single episode together! These two would be clashing with one another in their first meeting, no problem! LOL To be honest, I would've expected James to meet Daisy as soon as Thomas was, uh... indisposed. I mean, Elsbridge is the junction to the Main Line, and those looking to travel from there to Thomas's branch line would be taken there by James and Henry. They were bound to run into her, sooner or later. Not to mention Donald and Douglas hauling the freight trains. Anyway, this is a good story.

Okay, I actually like how this story was handled, for a halloween special. No ghost appearance, for one thing. Fan story writers seem to love including actual ghosts, which the show and stories never did as far as I can remember, but this narrative didn't include a false haunting alarm or even a ghost story! Just a dark tale of dubious authenticity. And that's the other part I appreciate. This almost feels like a myth or a fable told to explain how the Sodor & Midland floundered, and the shop worker just happened to have a perfectly alive engine in mind when he told it, possibly an engine he had previously repaired. Knowing the engine's true fate takes the edge of the story... and if you're not familiar with Samson, you'll remember Edward- and Gordon's skepticism at once. Although, you're not the first person to say the Sodor and Midland had a fourth engine whose boiler exploded, or even the first to suggest that the crater would become significant. One broa island depicted a S&M #4 suffering a boiler explosion in an original scene at the beginning of his adaptation of Doctor's Orders, a buried truck story, and implied that the crater became the ditch that Gordon fell into. Did you get the idea from him? Did both of you get the idea from someone or somewhere else? The plot thickens. Samson just feels like a perfect fit for S&M lore, by the way, both because his name bears a resemblance to "S&MS&M", and because he just feels like an "I'm you, but better" counterpart to Neil & Bros.

What a touching story. Poor Mrs Kyndley, she really was a loving character in the show. She's one of the reasons Thomas's branch line is exciting to visit. It was lovely for the engines to do nice, kind things for her 🙂.

Just finished the video, and... Dang, man. This was a sad but nice story, and a good sendoff to Mrs. Kyndley, an old friend of the Ffarquhar Branch Line's engines. Also, I thought the end credits were just going to have no music the entire way through... but then the ending music from "Henry's Forest" started playing, and while I didn't cry, it still got me right in the feels. 😢
