Çünkü o sayede Anzac ve Türk askerleri arasında dostluk sona erecektir. 3. Avustralya, savaşa ilk önceleri katılım çok az sayıda oluyordu. Bunu arttırabilmek İngiliz istihbaratı tarafından için Avustralya içinde trenlerie bir intihar saldırısı yapıldı. Ve bunu sadece iki Türk ün yaptığını söylediler. My maternal great-great-grandfather fought on the Ottoman side under Mustafa Kemals command. According to my great-grandfather who shared memories of his father he said; 'They fought desperately and we saw many of them fall under our fire. We carried the wounded but none survived, they died shortly after from their injuries.

Not only was the battle a waste of good men but the out come of driving the Turks out of the Middle East was an act of evil, the results of which the people of the world are still living with.
