Too bad the prior owners were so rough on it. I hope you can acquire the missing pieces/parts, and re-shape/straighten the current ones. A very high level craftsman on YT (channel name metalshaper) can manufacture 100% correct front fenders for '76 - '86 CJs. Greetings, and good luck from east/central AZ, and current (fellow) CJ5 owner.

This is good, I just picked up the same Jeep in about the same shape. I just put a new battery in it and tested the four wheel drive which works, but I see signs of tinkering by someone who was not as interested in doing things good, but rather that dreaded bailing wire fix. I'm lookiing forward to getting this in better shape as the wife and I are going to be using it for SAR missions. Thanks for the info, I'll check out your channel for more vid's.

Stunning scenery. I have a mountain nearby but there is certainly none of that white stuff on it. Great to see you guys out enjoying life. Could bears be an issue there and if so, what is the plan? I guess it pays to hike with someone who can't run as fast as you!!!! 🤣
@143jkrd3 ай бұрын
Yes bears live in my neighborhood as well as Mt Lions. Not typically a problem. I am usually armed plus we carry bear spray. I am more concerned with the leg cramps after hiking.

It looks like you are missing the interior clamp ring. At least on newer Casitas, the pop rivets on the outside only hold it in position and the clamp ring inside has maybe a dozen screws that clamp the window tightly to the fiberglass.

@143jkrd4 ай бұрын
Yes !! on the older model Casita trailers there was no roof air-conditioning. The factory installed a residential model wall unit in the front of the trailer at the bottom of the closet just inside the front door. (kind of an afterthought in my opinion)

I’ve gone through a few of these speed sensors as well as replacing the plug. Fingers crossed I have it solved. I also took out the gauge cluster & cleaned the connections. Unfortunately the other end where the car reads the sensor is called a CPOM (I think) which for an inexplicable reason is not replaceable without the entire gauge cluster.
