Some nice fish. I usually only keep 10 inch to 13 inch also. According to DNR in last two surveys we are overpopulated with small fish and stunted. Don't feel bad to keep more of the 8 to 10 in your creel. My Grandson likes the Crappie nuggets so 9 inch fish are good for that. I release crappie back about 90% of my trips. It was nice meeting you out there few weeks ago.

That’s what I figured since the size limit is 8 in. Next time I go I’m definitely gonna do my part and take the smaller ones out!!

Calavaras lake is NOT the only freshwater lake with Red Fish. Just next door is Braunig lake and it has them also
