First- thank you for the shoutout!!!! Second- great guest! At least someone is having luck getting cards graded😂 Next- a Seinfeld reference? What?! Did we just become best friends! Great ideas for bargain collections. I try and come up with a bunch too. It gets a little stale when you aren’t adding anything. I may have cheated (video out tomorrow😂). But, I think saving is going to be well worth it after Strongsville. Great story with a former player. You probably made his day just as much as he made yours. Great video. Having these smaller cards on the list is a fun project in between the shows. That’s the goal anyway! The Tulsa Oilers were affiliated with the Cardinals back then, so several of the players I’ll be chasing will be in Cardinals uniforms. I’m really happy with that Carlton. I just added it to the collection a few months ago. The NFL thing is something different for me to chase. I normally don’t go after many autographs and thought it would be a fun side project. Rick Engles unknowingly kicked that project off for me! Thanks for watching!

Great video and your son’s soccer card collection is starting off nice. Had to be special for him to pull that Yamal from a pack and get a 10. Very cool to have those local projects to save for a big card. What card are you looking to add to your PC.

Thank you! He was excited about pulling the Yamal, and really pumped about getting the 10. Two of the “top tier” cards on my list are the 53 Satchel Paige and the T206 Christy Mathewson dark cap. It’s the reason I have a Chick Hafey card in my collection (only HOF player from Berkeley). Incidentally, my grandma was from Oklahoma and lived in Tulsa for a bit. Anyway, cool projects.

Love the new intro! I had no idea that all of these guys were suspected of steroid use. I mean, I knew Canseco, McGwire, Giambi, A-Rod, and Palmeiro. And Bonds of course. I remember hearing Pudge’s name. But, wow, I had no idea. Loved seeing all these cards. Thanks for the video and thanks for sharing!

There’s sort of a cloud hanging over that era of baseball, but the cards are still fun. Thanks for checking it out!

I've had people tell me it's fine to send cards off to grade with SGC in top loaders, but others have told me I must use card savers. What is thw correct way?

@@jayhawkermikevintagecards I have personally only used card savers except for oversized cards. I believe card savers are preferred from everything I’ve seen.

This was great! I still have almost every player showed today STILL in a binder! I don’t still collect each player here but it have collected EACH player you showed today! I really enjoyed your intro here with that documentary about Greenies. I will definitely give that a look! I have read that book Juiced, I made a video about it long ago too! Some all time greats showed here!!

It was an interesting time in baseball. It gets lumped in with a lot of controversy today, but it was a fun time to watch the sport. I haven’t actually read Canseco’s book, but I’ll have to check that out. Thanks for watching!

So awesome that you and your son got to do this together. I tried to get my kids into the Hobby at a young age, but it didn’t stick. But, hey, there’s always time, right? Absolutely fantastic additions! That Averrill is on my list for my Diamond Stars HOF run. I had no idea about the story with him and Frisch though. Wheaties cards are great! I’m looking for a couple of those as well. Beautiful Koufax!! That is a really great looking card. Live streams are tough for me to catch. I’ll try and tune into the next one. Great stuff. Being able to take him was honestly the highlight of the weekend and something I’ll always remember. We had a great time. The cards will also tie back to that memory and that’s what it’s all about. And yeah… I just looked at that Koufax again after I got home from work! 😁

@@Cb489 Hi Norman. If you are sending the cards off for grading I would just put them straight into the card savers, but some of the sleeve companies do offer“vintage” penny sleeves that are over-sized. Amazon has them if you are interested. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

Collectors should not be worried what people think if cards in their PC are OC. In my view, some videos on KZbin are a bit harsh on OC cards, when in fact, the OC cards are still an original card from the time of production (even if there were quality control issues at the time). Do not be afraid to add OC cards to your collection if you really want the card. At the end of the day, it is your decision, and yours only. Keep collecting!

@@jonathanf1844 correct. SGC will charge you for the return shipping cost up front when you pay for the submission. When I ship to them, I personally like using Pirate Ship and I print my label from home for USPS Priority Mail. Or just take your package to USPS.
