Yep, good idea. I noticed you have a graphic (car) with text also on the screen. I want to add lower-thirds titles (using PD) with text and church logo for introducing different speakers. To date I have created these in Canva as a mp3 on a green screen. (Both the text and logo fly in at different speeds as if the logo is writing or revealing the the text). I would like to do these lower-thirds entirely in PD365 but I see no way of adding graphics into the PD title templates. Please can you help - I am sure I am not the only one who would like to do this. Many thank - as usual - for your channel, I try not to miss any tutorials. David

@powerdirectorworkshop6999

You can animate each letter with a different style of animation, but it is a tedious process because you would need to make each letter a separate title of its own. You could place them next to each other to look like they were words. In actuality they would represent lots of titles. --Jim

I have a need, question on a related question. I have the need to cut a 90 minute video on track 1 into many clips and want to be able to export only the clips I pull to track two. I don't see anyway to do this. I have turn off the track 1 visibility and that didn't work, locking it didn't work. Anyone have ideas?
@powerdirectorworkshop6999
@powerdirectorworkshop6999 Ай бұрын
Do you want to export each of the individual clips on track 2 as separate files? If so, you can use the range selection tool to extract the clips, copy the range on track 2, and then use the range tool again to select each segment you have copied and produce it as an independent clip to use elsewhere. Is this what you have in mind? --Jim

@@powerdirectorworkshop6999 HI Jim, thanks so much for your response. Let me see if I follow you and I will try your idea. But let me explain in more detail to see if that makes the situation clearer on what I am trying to do. I video HS tennis matches and they are big files - 45 GB. I want to put the file on track one, then watch the video and mark and cut segments that are 'highlights' and then once done I want to be able to save all these cut segments to individually exported clips that I can use for instruction. I could not figure out how to do this other than one by one and that is very labor intensive. As a solution I downloaded Davinci Resolve 19 and it can do this very easily, so I thought maybe I am missing the PD365 twist on it. Let me see if I can get your instructions to work. - Thx!
@graphguy
@graphguy Ай бұрын
@@powerdirectorworkshop6999 Ok, I just tried what I interpreted as your instructions. It does allow me to export whatever my choosen range is, which is partially good, but not totally. What I want and what Resolve allows is for me to select a range of individual clips at once and then it automatically saves each one to its own rendered file. That is the part PD365 doesn't do. In PD365 if I select a range of clips it will export them all together into one export. I need it to save each to its own file.
@powerdirectorworkshop6999
@powerdirectorworkshop6999 Ай бұрын
It sounds like in Resolve you can select a range of clips that have space between them and it will take each segment in that range that has content and render it as a unique file. Do I understand that correctly?
@graphguy
@graphguy Ай бұрын
@@powerdirectorworkshop6999 Hi, Actually no space is needed, just cut clips inline, then you can select them and choose, "render to individual files", with a bunch of options. Works really well. But.. I don't want to have to become proficient in Resolve just for this one feature as Resolve has a pretty steep learning curve.

@@powerdirectorworkshop6999 Thank you so much for your reply... But we're not communicating clearly.... I'm not talking about the logo that's the main topic of the tutorial. I'm referring the the very first screen that we see at 0:00 (text that says "Power Director Workshop" etc). Somehow you make that whole frame (the background and the text etc) rotate INTO and OUT OF the screen, as if it's rotating about an axis that goes vertically up through the monitor. By comparison the white text "alumni ball" logo rotates about an axis that would be perpendicular to our monitors. Does this make sense? So somehow you got that opening shot to rotate about a different axis. How do we do that? I'll be a subscriber for life if you can please help me with this asap.

Jim, I always learn something new watching your tutorials, be it about the tutorial's subject itself, a general PowerDirector feature I wasn't aware of (like the time range selection tool/export to image), or those efficient shortcuts I keep forgetting (like ',' and '.' for frame-by-frame navigation). THANK YOU! One thing users may want to be aware of when using Ctrl+p or right-click=>Snapshot :: you may be capturing the frame dimensions and compression quality of the item in focus. Here is where it matters: I video edit on older hardware and need to use the built-in shadow file feature to not overload my CPU/GPU. My original files are of GoPro-11, 5.3k resolution, but the shadow files are reduced to 1080. When I take a snapshot from the timeline (your example) my images have the height of only 1080(frustrating)-: However, when I run a preview of the original MP4 imported into my Media Room, and take a Snapshot THERE, the original 5.3k resolution remains preserved. 2nd and 3rd approach: When I go the Time Rage/Produce to Image route I get 5.3k files of the largest file size (presumably least compression), which is what I want. Disclaimer, I'm running PowerDirector 20 installed on Win10 (PD version 20.0.2815.0), just in case CyberLink has changed that behavior in recent updates.
