I love how you do so many Khruangbin covers. The bass parts are sooo fun 🤩 so we won't forget is one of the first songs I learned on bass

Sounds good! What are you going to use the J&D for going forward, Roundwounds? If I get a new bass I might put flats on my Jazz finally, right now I need it for SLAPP
@Resting_Bass_FaceАй бұрын
@@SisterRose thank you! The J&D will still be used plenty, but nooooo roundwounds lol! Roundwounds give me the ick, I play solely with flats. It’s a sensory preference for me and I also just like the dead muted tones way better. 🥰
@SisterRoseАй бұрын
@@Resting_Bass_Face I get that, I generally prefer the smooth feeling of flats too, sometimes my sensory issues are triggered by rounds :) But I love to have a bit of a Marcus Miller sound too sometimes

Hey, that’s a lovely bit of playing, well done. Does your ‘raking’ come naturally? It’s something I really struggle with, I always end up alternate picking which isn’t very efficient. All the best.

Hi Lewis, thanks so much for the kind comment and the subscribe! I'm a bit of a cheater, I'm a hyperfixated autistic who has been listening to Khru since about 2018 on the daily. Like, I literally have not lived for a single day for 6 years without listening to their music, ahaha. So that has been great ear-training for years before I even picked up a bass, I knew most of these lines by heart by the time I got around to playing them. I do fiddle around with music from other decades, genres and artists, but I always seem to come back to the Khru because these lines are way more natural and easy for me to learn and play, and I never get tired or bored. 🥰 Stick with it, I'll be cheering you on!

I've seen a few Khruangbin videos. If you're learning to play I think you're going to learn some bad bass habits, also seeing her as more of an onstage act than a versatile player.
@Resting_Bass_Face7 ай бұрын
I don't care, John. Don't worry.
@johnwattdotca7 ай бұрын
@@Resting_Bass_Face I'm an old band player, still playing, getting into music in the late 1960s after I saw Jimi Hendrix, here in Canada. I grew up with r'n'b, getting Detroit and Buffalo TV stations and radio, bass having more drive and melody. Your bass is really nice, and you're playing and recording yourself playing it, so I hope you become more versatile and make it in bands. I care, because I'm only as good as the people I'm playing with.
@Resting_Bass_Face7 ай бұрын
@@johnwattdotca Yes, I know immediately from from a certain style of communication I'm talking to an old timer. The thing is, you don't really care, you just want to get on your high horse and 'educate' others about what's proper and right because you think you know it all, apparently think you're a better player than LL who you deem some sort of mediocre stage act. I think it's also quite apparent I REALLY like Khruangbin, so what made you think I'd listen to your 'concerns' by you shitting on my favorite band and favorite bass player? I get messages from tons of dudes like you who want to sort of claim me as their lil cute girl student-pet and think they can tell me what to do, tell me what I should play, what I should like. And again, I don't care. I don't care for your opinions, I don't care about how experienced you are, because in the first place I don't care for your line of communication. It makes me instantly disrespect you and not listen to anything you have to say. I'm doing what I like and exactly what I want to be doing right now. Stop pushing people to be better and perfect all the time with your 'concerns', which are only blunt opinions which add nothing to the table. You clearly didn't read my channel description: I have no aspirations to be in a band, be a professional bassist, be a world-famous superstar whatsoever. This is my lil place of peace, now go be shitty somewhere else. Annuleren Beantwoorden

@@Resting_Bass_Face I see you are having problems as a woman who published a video of her playing bass to a pre-recorded song. Don't put them on me. I'm not coming at you as a player, you're too young and inexperienced. You also aren't dancing or moving around. And you're hung up on age. I saw the Jimi Hendrix Experience, what made me switch from trying to play trumpet and violin to electric guitar. Being backstage with George Benson was a great guitar lesson, when he was a sit-down jazz instrumentalist, and talking with McCoy Tyner between sets broke me into jazz. You use profanity and insults. I don't, so this reply won't meet your expectations.
@Resting_Bass_Face7 ай бұрын
@@johnwattdotca Oh silly John, this reply met my exact expectations, don’t be fooled. Again, I really don’t care. I’m not having a problem, you’re projecting and you’re butthurt. You’re showing your tiny fragile boomer ego by bragging about who you know and how experienced you are. Not using profanity does not equal being proper. You can shove that up your ass if you’re being a random keyboard hero dickhead on the internet, supposedly not ‘coming at me’. You felt the need to express your so-called concern or constructive feedback or whatever your idea was with negative words and opinions and that was that. Lastly, I’m an adult 32 year old women who is happy where’s she’s at and would never think of leaving some random dickish zero-constructive comment like that. Because I don’t have the need to seek for validation by bragging and shitting on others like you do. Malintent or not, it’s what you’re doing here and I’m not engaging further. Bye now, I already told you I don’t care so keep blabbering on if you wish.
