Had a roadside mechanic come and check it one day, he said these Mercs have 6 or so computers and that an intermittent issue there (maybe wiring?) could stop the car from starting (theft protection maybe?). I immediately traded the car in for a Honda.

Replace the fuel pump, they are pretty cheap on amazon or eBay. I had the same problem cranking but no start and replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter pretty cheaply and the car fires up right away

Only thing I'm concerned with is the Velcro losing its grip over time, taking it off and on every day normal use will eventually wear the Velcro out !
