Great stuff. Bloody weeds. Support matter what type of growing year it is weeds always do well and they haven't as far as i know been messed about with. Did you attend of hear about the energy talks there of a few weeks ago? There's a guy called Paul Burgess who went over to try and set the record straight about renewable. Look him up on here if you haven't yet.

Hi Robert. Yes I heard of the talks about renewables over here. I had a relative head down. Lots of interesting things happening, at the end of the day things need to change. Definitely can’t fight with the weeds that is a certainty.

It is lovely. Funny to see that you had been up Glen Maye looking over towards Rushen mines, maybe we were there at the same time. I really want to go for a look around the stone mine between Glen Rushen and Glen Maye.

Glad you mentioned parsnips and swede, we’ve just finished the last of our parsnip soup from the freezer and the beautiful swedes that we froze are nearly gone too. Those swedes were the most tender and flavoursome that we’ve ever had. Thank you, keep growing! X

I know exactly what you mean. I took an over dose in early December but was found by my wife who had left me. I've been right to the bottom and I'd thought I'd been close in the past. Keep your chin up and I'm so glad you've got friends you can rely on. My advice is grow more veg if you can and or let a bit of ground out of people want to grow their own and haven't got a garden. Are you close to Saunders farm by chance? Is it worth selling raw milk or do sanders already sell raw? Just trying to kick some ideas around. Farmers markets?

Hi Robert It can be very tough, really glad that you have managed to battle through and hopefully the low points are in your past now. I am just down the road from Aalin Dairy so if I get sorted with a stall I have definitely considered looking into that. This year should be a big growth year hopefully with the whole project. We have started also putting produce to the Ramsey Farmers Market. Thank you so much for your comments. Keep safe.

Very well said. Our farmers are the lifeblood of our country. We must shop locally as much as we can and spread the word, our produce is fantastic.

My grandad used to say “ne’er cast a clout till May is out”. Not sure if this refers to May as May blossom (Hawthorn) or the month of May. I think I’d go with Hawthorn towards the end of April/early May. Hopefully most things can cope with the odd cold snap at that point.

Hi. I have found them on eBay previously. I have had a machinist friend make up a new one for me to allow me to plant larger seeds.

Winter radish is a useful and easy thing to grow and stores well in dry sand. Very nice, I’d recommend them.

Could the mystery pumpkin be a Cousa / Kousa.? Cousa is a Lebanese courgette type I think. Not sure it should be that big though. A mystery.

Why was the combine going so slow?

Hi. The combine was going so slow as there was a lot of grass growing in and amongst the Barley. This has grown because the crop struggled in a big spell of wet weather we had in spring which was followed by nearly 7 weeks without rain. This allowed the grass to get established, it has been sprayed off but even dead it is tough for the cutter bar to go through so the combine has to travel slowly.

2 years since this was 2 foot long rough grass, now a amazing blend of species and has plenty of flowers that appear for the bees between each cut.

Hey, not a farmer. So whats the fix for this? Inflate & use a temporary seal?

We have a few repairs around the tyre already. We have just put a bit of air in to keep it going today as loading has to be done today. Other options would be to put a inner tube in if there ends up too many repairs. Thank you.
