Someone high up in the org must hate Bote because they call him up, he’s hitting .333 with an over .700 OPS and he doesn’t play on a club that desperately needs hits and consistent defense. And this is AFTER they kept him in AAA for two years while forcing Madrigal and Mastrobuoni down our throats. I agree that you ultimately need someone better at the MLB level, but he’s here, so USE HIM.

It looks like each team carries 15-20 pitchers on their roster. That's close to 500 pitchers in the majors. I'm guessing some of these guys should still be in the minors....the skill level has been diluted so each team has to find the right mix which few have found. Look at the standings. Playing .500 ball or worse is the norm.

Kap ! I agree with you on a lot of things but I have to differ with you on the Wisdom issue . It's hard to stay at the top of your game when your not getting regular at bats and get jerked up and down the lineup and in the field when you do play , and then you get screwed by the official scorer . The same goes for Gomes ,he gets a start every 4th or 5th day while a rank amateur gets all the playing time . All that said though I've got to say that this team is not playing with any intensity for Counsell . Last year with basically the same team , they played their asses off for Ross . I think there's some resentment from the players for how Ross was disrespected by the Cubs and Hoyer .

Madden gets us a world series, Ross gets us one win from a playoff, Counsell gets us bottom of the division (soon) Now that’s progress!! .UK Cub.

They got rid of Kyle and kept Patrick because he’s cheaper. Meanwhile Kyle is doing well enough to remain on a better team. The Cubs are currently in 4th place and they will be in last place after this weekend, just I said before. I know there aren’t any stars on this team, but I didn’t think they would be this bad.
