Using Clearthix S above 2% can result in a slight hazy appearance, if clarity is essential, we recommend using a maximum of 2% Clearthix S. Adding a small amount of Hydratagel G (1-5%) can be a good way of increasing the viscosity of the system without impacting clarity. @@cuttinup97

Can this be used in a pre-shampoo oil treatment for hair? If so, what's the suggested usage rate?
@AlchemyIngredients
@AlchemyIngredients 11 ай бұрын
Micromulse LB would be perfect for this application. For a similar formulation we suggest looking at the Miracle Hair Oil as this can be easily adapted to create a pre-shampoo treatment rather than a post-shampoo treatment. www.alchemy-ingredients.com/formulations/miracle-hair-oil We would recommend using Micromulse LB at between 15-20%. Typically we use Micromulse LB at 17.5%, and then adjust the levels of glycerine and water used depending on the oil phase to keep transparency.

Hi team, loved the video. Can I ask why you added extra glycerine to the formula? Doesn't micromulse lb contain glycerine. Also if I wanted a more of a runnier consistency, how would I go about doing this?
@AlchemyIngredients
@AlchemyIngredients Жыл бұрын
The extra glycerine is required to create a fluid transparent system. Your choice of oil will determine how fluid your system is as you need to adjust the levels of water and glycerine to match the refractive index of the oil phase. Esters tend to have a lower refractive index than vegetable oils so require a small amount of water to achieve transparency, this helps to create a more fluid texture. We suggest checking out our Micellar Cleansing Oil formulation if you require a thinner system: www.alchemy-ingredients.com/formulations/micellar-cleansing-oil

Hi there. To answer your questions, yes the system will be hazy if the level of Microsol Natural isn’t sufficient to solubilise the fragrance/essential oil used. Regarding sensitive skin, we specifically chose this blend of surfactants as they are known to be mild on the skin, however we are awaiting results for skin irritation. Hope that helps?

You could attempt to make the balm with a hand mixer or a stand mixer, but not a stick blender as they are better suited for high shear mixing. However you are not guaranteed to make a stable balm without the correct lab equipment and we don't recommend this method for our products.

Hi Susan. Our list of distributors can be found on our website here: alchemy-ingredients.com/distributors With regards to your question about gel creams, I assume that this is in relation to our new product, Instathix® which is our new oil-in-gel emulsion system, suitable for hot processes only. To create a completely cold process emulsion you first need to make an oily gel with Sucragel XL using the oil phase required in the emulsion. You then need to prepare the external (diluting) phase, consisting of water plus a stabiliser of your choice, I suggest using Sucrathix VX this is a stabiliser that can be dispersed hot or cold. Combine the two phases and homogenise. Check out at our Anti-Ageing Rejuvenating Serum for an example formulation: alchemy-ingredients.com/formulations/anti-ageing-rejuvenating-serum

Is there any alternative of HIPEgel ?!
@AlchemyIngredients
@AlchemyIngredients 2 жыл бұрын
We have a range of oil gelling agents in our portfolio suitable for a range of different applications. HIPEgel® Oleo is for high internal phase o/w emulsions (typically 80-90% internal oil phase), with a quick break gel-to-oil texture. Alternatively you could use Sucragel® to form a concentrated o/w emulsion with a gel-to-milk texture or Sapogel® Q to form a balm texture.
