Polyacrylide is used in water reclamation, but acrylamide is a carcinogen, and since it's use breast cancer has increased dramatically, it is also used in cosmetics as a binding agent. Acrylamide is a created in foods when cooked at high temperatures, and may or may not pose health risks (discovered in 2002) however polyacrylamide is a plastic, which is known to cause health problems, it is okay if it's used in water reclamation for the production of paper goods, but for drinking water, well let's just say I prefer not to drink water treated by it.

most the chemical within the flocs, cause it make the particle agglomeration to each other. Just imagine a glue that stick together between particle that suspended in the liquid. Even if you get the filtrate from those process, the flocculant in the liquid was extremely small, and it can easily remove by distilled the water for easy treatment.
