The worst part is that RvP wasn't a pure striker that sat in the penalty box waiting. He also helped with build up, he was a special player. It also doesn't help that you in the Euro 2012 they didn't win a single match in the groups phase so then you go home again. RvP scoring and Van der Vaart scoring. Both beautiful goals but ultimately it didn't matter. Robben got so much praise but I believe scored 6 goals for our country in these two tournaments combined? Yet was also hugely selfish player and scored against some of the weaker teams and yet got less criticism than RvP so weird.
