The issue with shows like this is they can't make a hunt TOO realistic or else it could be traumatic. The brutal part has to end fast.

1- Cave lions have no chance 2- All Elephants are social and won't wander away from herd 3- They take actions immediately 4- Forget about a single, even a group of lions will have trouble taking down an elephant 5- Only chance lions have if there a small baby elephant alone

The CG work is so stunning that it almost forgives the questionable portrayal of animal behavior. But that being said, anything can happen in nature.

Probably the most bs thing I’ve seen in my life. Not even a pride of 20 lions would go near an adolescent elephant let alone a herd of multiple adults. They haul ass when a full grown female is spotted and don’t even bother staying in areas where bulls live. You expect me to believe cave lions faced off against a herd of mammoths ?

Totally pharcical. There's a reason lions steer clear of elephants - they can't do a damn thing to an adolescent, let alone an adult.

This is crap mammoths were way bigger than today elephant's and yet i see how a teenager get's down so easily that's bullshit,plus the teenager wouldn't stay that far from the herd 😂😂😂

In the behaviour youre right. But the woolly mammoth was the same size as todays African elephants. Other species were larger, yes. But not the woolly mammoth. The largest Woolly mammoth had a shoulder height of 3,75 m. The largest African elephant ever had a shoulder height of 4 m.

CGI as well as the animations and behavior of these creatures (especially the lions) just look so unrealistic. Who made this? Clearly someone who never watched nature documentaries.
@wildlifeisthewealthofnatur54573 күн бұрын
Which weed did animators smoke while making this? No way a lone cave lion can bring down a young mammoth of that size this effortlessly. It literally just pulled the mammoth a little and made it fall. Carnivores weren't some entities with supernatural strength. Just look at today's Lions trying to tackle down a baby elephant and how much time it takes to do it. It would had been more accurate if all the members of the pride took that mammoth down together.

Lol true. These prehistoric doccies like overrating the predators and underrating the 'prey' herbivores. You'd swear these predators had some super soldier serum or something 😂

There’s two species of cave lion, the American cave lion (Panthera atrox) and the Eurasian cave lion (Panthera spelaea). On its heyday, the Eurasian cave lion could hunt large game like reindeer across Europe, Asia and even North America, thanks to the land bridge. The American cave lion prefers the same biomes as its African cousins: spacious savannas and grasslands.

0:01 That’s one of Phil Tippett’s Dinosaurs from Prehistoric Beast & Dinosaur from the mid 1980S. I wish it was available on DVD in America so I could watch his Stop Motion Dinosaurs anytime day or night. 0:33 This one however, I hope there is a DVD release on Life On Our Planet that is region free. The same goes for Prehistoric Planet 1 & 2 before it. I do like the best & brightest Feature Films, Shows, Documentaries & Video Games that have brought Dinosaurs back to life.

Look soo false those mamoths would have crushed the lions during day light and I’m sure the lions would attack only wounded or very old that are dying mamoths they better would go hunt something smaller then a pack of mamoths.

That’s Right. The Documentary did it wrong. It takes more than three cave lions to take down a teen mammoth. If the mammoth teen is down, the teen will still defend itself with the mammoths, size, super strength, trunks, and tucks to fight back. I with the documentary should have depicted the lions hunting caribou or steppe bison, when a teen Mammoth to be more realistic.

I like how accurate it is that cats are not designed to run long distance, like wolves and dogs do, their lungs are to small, they are sprinters while wolves are marathons. Now imagine a saber tooth cat that had small tail that didnt kept him in balance Durning chase plus being bulkier but with weak biteforce, talk about unsuccess rate these had, thats why they hunted in prides like modern lions do
